  1. At today’s Memorial Day town ceremony, a letter was read by vet, from a soldier in Viet Nam, to his family back home.

    He was killed in action the next day.

    PLEASE, do NOT up vote that. It was shuddering to hear.

  2. So sad that too many Americans treat Memorial Day like a vacation and sales day. American soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in service, defending this country deserve at least some time being memoralized by more Americans before celebrating the benefits of freedom – which by the way is not free.

  3. I also saw American flags placed on the guardrails over a river here in West Michigan and I though, “Why do they only have these up on Memorial Day and Independence Day? The American flag should be up all year round….”
