My dad said you could beat down a flirting faggot back in the 1930s in Los Angeles as long as they weren’t carrying an LAPD issued Queer card. You might get a ticket for kicking their ass if you hit them after they flashed the card. LAPD ran a lot of protection rackets like that in those days.
