The Not So ‘Charm’ing City

Baltimore is shrinking fast. It’s not just the high murder rate (though I’m sure 343 murders in the last year contributes to the depopulation of the city), it’s the other features of a democratically controlled city that is driving people out.

A recent opinion piece in the Baltimore Sun identifies three main causes for residents to flee: bad crime, high taxes, bad schools. More

As bad as things are for Baltimore, the police apparently have found a lucrative means to fund their department. They’ve’ kept just about $9.5 million (out of $10 million) of the money they’ve confiscated in the last five years. More

  1. It’s a shame, because there are large parts of Baltimore that are quite lovely. For now. And Johns Hopkins has some of the finest doctors and medical care in the world, but you risk your life getting to it.

  2. Baltimore Police…..legalized theft and corruption.
Everyone is guilty until you fight the never ending bureaucracy for months and months at your expense. No longer innocent until proven guilty.

  3. Once again I say show me a city dominated for decades by democRats and I´ll show you a run down, burned out, poverty-stricken, rat-infested city soft on crime, chock full of corrupt, bought-off democRats rewarding their cronies with public funds, establishing hostile business environments, heavily taxing the most productive citizens, setting up fat pensions for their union friends and selling “Hope and Change” to their dumbed-down, uninformed, unemployed, barely aware, self-absorbed, celebrity-obsessed, free-shit-grabbing constituents every time it’s time to vote! It’s just their personal Plantation of division and misery where nothing ever gets better except the politician’s(D) bank accounts!

  4. I used to attend 2 tradeshows for my industry, one on the West Coast (always in CA) and one on the East (used to be in Boston, then it moved to Baltimore 6 years ago). Went to the Baltimore show twice, then the riots happened, and I vowed never to go back again after having actually gone to the burned-out CVS just months beforehand to get some much-needed Sudafed post-flight for severe congestion.

Every year, when the event organizers send me the registration form, I send my stock reply of “Until your organization stops holding your East event in the most dangerous city in the USA, neither I nor my employees will ever put ourselves at risk again for the sake of attending, please reconsider your decision to hold this in a city where no attendees are safe the moment they leave the waterfront.”

So far, it hasn’t done any good, but I’m guessing that in due time after a few of the event attendees end up mugged (hopefully not worse) they’ll figure out that it doesn’t pay to try and force people to go to that shithole and risk safety just to see what’s new in the industry.

  5. By design of the democrat party, those who vote for a living; government employees, the mentally ill, druggies, drunks, minorities, criminals, welfare recipients, the unmotivated, illiterate, unskilled, and the unemployable outnumber those who work for a living. Like Detroilet, Baltimore will never recover.

  6. 343 murders out of a population of 620,000 ain’t too bad … 6 one-hundredths of one percent.
Of course, the number of murders is just an indicator. The rapes, robberies, burglaries, shake-downs, muggings, city-employee corruptions, drugs, perversions, and prostitutions are all festering beneath the surface.
Like every city run by nihilistic/socialistic/totalitarians (Demonrats, if you prefer) Bal’mer is a cesspool of hate, violence, corruption, and despair.

But that seems to be what people want – they sure as fuck voted for it.

A goose shits where he lives because he has no choice in the matter – the denizens of Bal’mer shit where they live – BECAUSE THAT’S WHO THEY ARE.

    izlamo delenda est …
