I like Johnny Rivers, but listening to him use all the “hip lingo” is a bit cringey.
He sounds like Greg Brady.
I wonder if in 50 years videos of the vernacular of the day will seem this embarrassing.
A bonus from the same episode. Wolfman Jack sings a heartfelt anthem of unity- watch what he says at the queued up part. It’s hilarious.
Did… did he just tell her to hold hands with the ugly red head?
Defeats the purpose of the song, no?
😂😂😂
I remember that song from Wolfman. Hadn’t heard it in years.
Boy did he look high!
Farm out! Out of state, right arm!
That’s Johnny Rivers? Far out, man.
I liked some of Johnny Rivers songs. But he crapped up some of them with a faux party sound background – people singing and dancing and yelling, like in the Secret Agent Man.
Still, Secret Agent Man had some great lyrics, like this:
Swinging on the Riviera one day
And then lying in a Bombay alley next day.
Swingin’ it, Man. 1965-66 style.
I loved Midnight Special. Looked forward to it every week. I was watching it when I went into labor with our first. I waited until it was over before I woke Jim up. 🙂
23 skidoo!
Can you dig it? I knew that you could.
