The Siren’s Call

Breitbart

An endless playlist of Celine Dion songs is being blasted out by drivers in a New Zealand city to torture residents through the night as rival gangs compete in “siren battles.”

The sleepless residents of Porirua, north of national capital Wellington and home to 60,000 people, say the Canadian’s songs lose their lustre when played loud and non-stop through the night as vehicles and bicycles circle the area blaring out the music.

“It’s a headache,” Porirua Mayor Anita Baker told AFP on Thursday. More

  1. Music-playing gadgetry is readily deactivated by the high speed transit of modestly sized lead pellets through one or more circuit boards, power supplies, or operators.

In a pinch, try using a big stick to bang on one or more of the above.

  2. As bad as listening to Dion through the night would be, it would be a major war crime to have to listen to Yoko Ono. The Kiwis in that city should consider themselves lucky

  3. Oh come on now, Celine needs all the love and prayers she can get now. She has stiff man disease, which means, she’s slowly being tortured like the people who have to listen to her music. Which is worse? Having to listen to her music or getting a jab and acquiring stiff man disease?

  4. My first thought was “why don’t the cops stop it?”, then I read this little nugget: “ Local media have reported on contestants — often people with family links to Pacific Island nations — ”

    Once again POC privilege.

Alternatively, the folks in their houses, taking advantage of their superior electrical supply, could blast the punks out with home stereos cranking out Judas Priest or AC/DC right back. We did barracks sound wars when I was in the Army, and the Rockers always killed the Disco or Country nuts. If I put my speakers in my windows and gave them all the Harmon Kardon amps I could push, nobody would hear Celine over whatever I choose, be it Bach or The Clash. Fight fire with superior fire power.
