CBN: Something’s Happening to the Sun Right Now, Here’s What It Means for Earth.
Scientists say Earth’s atmosphere is about to get hit by some record cold – but it’s not because of anything caused by humans. It’s because of a lack of sunspots which means a major decrease in ultraviolet waves coming in our direction.
Dr. Tony Philipps of SpaceWeatherArchive.com says there have been practically no sunspots in 2018, and that’s causing earth’s upper atmosphere to cool down and even shrink. He cites some experts from NASA.
“We see a cooling trend,” says Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center. “High above Earth’s surface, near the edge of space, our atmosphere is losing heat energy. If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold.”
If the trend continues, the NASA scientist says we could see record cold in a matter of months. more

This is what happens when so many people leave their refrigerator or freezer doors open for too long – man-made global cooling.
A couple of degrees warmer would have actually been good for the earth, and pleasant for us. A lot colder is kind of frightening.

Quite literally a record low for the space age. The section of the atmosphere they’re looking at has a direct impact on low earth orbit satellites. When the atmosphere heats up and expands, it increases drag on them, and can actually cause them to fall out of orbit, or spend fuel staying in their orbit, etc… But we don’t have any records prior to the first satellites.
I can tell you this… Ham radio 10M is dead.

Where I live, it goes from 80 -90 at the beginning of fall and winds up being near-freezing temps by the end of the week. We have to put up with DST, but by damn we’re not havin’ 4 seasons like all you Yankees!

I have been saying for years that global warming is the upside of climate change. You can’t grow crop on a mile thick ice shelf, but you can in a desert if you can transport water. Also, the growing season at higher latitudes would become longer.
Makes sense…the ice in my rum and coke lasts alot longer when I’m outside in November compared to July… math

Of course there’s been global warming. Otherwise the the top half of North America would still be under a mile of ice.

I call BS! I made a sciency observation just last week and I can tell you that when I stand 10′ away from my Chevy 2500, it’s WAY bigger than the Sun. Ergo, it has way more impact on the climate than the Sun, no matter how bright it is.
I now have an uncontrollable urge to start wearing bow-ties.
