Powerline
This was the week when the Democrats resumed their mantle as the party of peace, assuring the rest of us that things would be fine if conservatives would just stop murdering each other. And Jimmy Kimmel joined Stephen Colbert in the unemployment line, at least for now. Remarkably, it wasn’t because he hasn’t said anything funny in a decade. Kimmel’s suspension gave Democrats the opportunity to tell us they have always been the party of free speech. As long as the speech was theirs. It was a week of unparalleled gaslighting, and thus a target-rich environment for memesters. More

In their floundering desperation they are driving more and more people out of the democRAT party every day. I can almost smell the Flop Sweat from here!
Don’t be surprised if Disney caves to the pressure and brings the bastard back.
We have seen this episode before. In 2022 Bob Chapek, current CEO, did not boisterously fight Florida’s Don’t Say Gay law (even though nothing in the bill prohibited the word “gay” anywhere). All the woke ass Disney employees, including the lesbians that ran Marvel and Pixar, were livid and staged a “no confidence” revolt. Soon, Chapek was out on his ass.
The same thing is playing out now at ABC. The children there are not happy and in the Disney house, the loud-mouthed kiddies usually get their way.
I think Disney is caught between a rock and a hard spot. Advertisers were threatening to pull the plug. Affiliates threatened to stop broadcasting Kimmel. That hasn’t changed. So which path preserves the old cash flow best? Bottom line Kimmels viewer shipped has tanked. Nobody wants to watch the asshole. He was costing them lots of money.
@Bad_Brad:
Ding-ding-ding-ding! We have a winner!
No one will ever convince me Kimmel’s ouster was anything other than a pure, bottom line, bidniss decision. All this hoo-hah about free speech is transparent bullshit.
(Yeah, I know you can’t see through regular bullshit, but this is different: political bullshit.)
In other words, they were just looking for an excuse to unload this parasite who thinks he’s funny.
I set my DVR last night to get what was supposed to be a tribute to Charlie Kirk on ABC-TV in Kimmel’s time slot and what I got was Celebrity Family Feud .
