I always tune in to The Simpsons to hear Homer’s epic poems.

D’oh!

I’m sorry, but that was funny.
A small lift of my mood before I start watching my football team get destroyed by the Buckeyes.

DOHH!! I feel better now.

Good to know that our pop culture has dumbed down the rest of the world.

Well, Shakespeare was know as the Bart…
Wait what?

How old and out of touch am I that I immediately picked up on the Iliad and Odyssey?

So much for a classical education, here or there; I went to government school and even I knew the answer.
How far the mighty have fallen.

They Say Americans Are Dumb
and they are correct.
In the 1940’s America built all the tools and equipment, shipped it all over the world and used it to win WWII.
Today Americans don’t even build a sewing machine and cannot get the containers from China unloaded at the ports.
So, yes, Americans are dumb.

You may be old and you may be out of touch, but you picked up on “The Iliad and the Odyssey” because…(doing my sleepy Joe creepy whisper impersonation)…you are educated.

You picked it up because you were taught from a worldview that didn’t place yourself in the center and thus made everything relevant to you and your wants and desires.
For me the answer (using my 21st century voice) is meatloaf. I our world today the leaders want us only to be concerned with immediate needs and answers then they win.
I also couldn’t help noticing that the guy looks a bit like Homer Simpson. 😆

We had a excellent supply chain system working before the Chinese flu scam. Literally trillions of self serving decisions being made by billions of people globally. Things hummed along pretty well so I take issue with the observation that Anon has made about Americans being dumb because we now have empty shelves.
Take the motherfucking politicians out of the equation and problem solved.
As for this idiot, I think he’s had more than enough TV. The first time I read the Iliad I think I was 9. I haven’t seen any Simpsons but the occasional gif.
