‘They Took Our Rights Away’: Citizen Living In Seattle’s Autonomous Zone Speaks Out

Daily Caller:

Seattle’s newly minted autonomous zone is reportedly causing problems for the people who lived in the area before the zone was created.

The Daily Caller’s Shelby Talcott spoke Friday with Fox News host Martha MacCallum about what was going on inside the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) and how the activity was impacting people who lived in the immediate area but were not a part of the protest.

Talcott explained that tensions have been high because not everyone agrees that Raz Simone, the man who has declared himself to be the “warlord,” should be the leader.

“A lot of these protesters do not agree with Raz becoming this warlord,” Talcott said. “We spoke to a few of them that were manning the entry points here in Seattle, and they say that his idea of what he wants CHAZ to become is not what the majority of the people inside want. So it is a little bit difficult, because they want no rules, but this is a society used to living by rules.”

Talcott also shared part of an interview with a local resident who was only willing to give only his first name — Brandon — because he feared reprisal.

  1. I don’t suppose they’ve considered opening fire on their conquerors to get rid of them yet?

It’s easier to whine and cry and hope someone decides to come rescue you than it is to actually do something about it, isn’t it?

This is why the Left wins when the move and the right loses to them every time. Even when they retreat, they never retreat to where they were at the start and are farther forward when they attack next time. Two steps forward (or three as it seems to be now) then one step back and prepare for next time.

Wow. It’s like a play based on Animal Farm, 1984, Lord Of The Flies, and Brave New World, all combined.

  3. …….at some point in the future, chaz will be held up as the ´shining city on the hill´ by liberal media. Destroyed, like so many other socialist/communist/progressive utopias, by a jealous, fearful United States conservative government.

  4. They are just doing what comes natural to progressives. Live it, love it, learn it. To the progressive movement the individual means absolutely nothing. Now that it your ox that is being gored it isn’t so Goddamned funny what the pieces of shit you have voted into office are doing to your neighborhood. Is it? And make no mistake about it, Capital Hill votes well north of 90% Democrats and favors the Sawant Democrats by a wide margin.

  5. I ran across an article about bikers and other groups taking down CHAZ on July 4th. My computer hiccuped and now I cannot find that article. Anyone else see that in their ‘travels’?

  6. Wonder who Brandon voted for city council.

Keep paying increasingly higher prop taxes Brandon and cower inside your home.

Be damned by those “who’s streets? Our streets!” squatters, pretty soon they’ll be “inside” your home. Make sure and get everyone’s food preferences, allergies, vegan/raw, macrobiotic, as well.
The tribe gets aggressive on empty tummies.

  7. If CHAZ is a “country on its own” and the people living in CHAZ considers themselves citizens of CHAZ…. should they be allowed to vote in US elections? I think not.

  8. So no armed resistance back at the oppressors, huh?
Is the problem no guns, or no balls?
Me & my neighbors would have had the remains of a few Auntie Feo’s hanging from each gate as a warning to other like-minded individuals.

  9. To quote Kyle Reese of TERMINATOR, “It’s what they do, It’s all they do!”

I have NO sympathy or empathy for those ‘inside’ that complain. Too damn bad!

Facists, socialists, communists; take away all rights. Your ass belongs to them.

  10. Funny that when there are NO GUNS in this newly formed country’s citizens, the FEW PEOPLE WITH GUNS become the de facto leaders.

I think the little assholes just proved the entire concept of the US Constitution and especially the 1A – People are afraid to speak out for fear of reprisal against “Raz”

And how 2A and 1A are the most directly linked & important amendments.
You can not, in practice, have one without the other!

On another note, how long before CHAZ establishes its first embassy with Venezuela & establishes closer economic trading partnerships.

Tucker has been quite funny and accurate lately on his show.

  11. I could fix this with 10 fire trucks
Declare state of emergency and move 10 fire trucks with boom nozzles to the perimeters
Declare the entire zone a fire hazard
Give them a 24/7 dousing until they go piss off somewhere else

  12. I say “Tough Shit” to these assholes. They allowed this rabble to infest their communities and they voted in the cretins like the mayor and city council. You are now reaping what you’ve sown. Tooo fucking bad!!!! :^#

…well, most elevated streams go about 1250 GPM althogh some can go as high as 2000 GPM and hydrants come off potable water supplies so you’re going to suck the municipal system inside-out pretty quickly. Also not sure you’re going to get 6 block coverage with 10 trucks since 100 ft is pretty much max for any non-articulated truck platform or ladder with mounted stream (most are shorter) so you’re not going to get a lot of penetration.

Of course to get there and maintain the streams you’re going to have to lay in to a hydrant (your tank at those rates will be exhausted immediately) and set up on outriggers, which takes a few minutes and destroys the mobility of the unit, leaving it wide open for a counterattack althogh ad close as you’re going to have to be they will probably assault you before you flow the first drop.

Fire trucks are shitty antipersonnel devices, they’re not designed for that.

…and besides, 70 years later, we STILL catch shit over that one time that one fire crew, behind a cordon of Police, turned their hoses on Black protestors when a Democrat leader TOLD them to, and someone filmed it. Not only was it stupid, it was a PERMANENT taint for NO BENEFIT AT ALL. Think they wouldn’t bring that up AGAIN? They sure WILL! All you’d do is get nationwide FDs attacked by lofos while simultaneously elevating Raz & Co. to drippy Civil Rights icons.

Like the Medevac helicopters I mentioned earlier, FDs are the tools of civilied men. They aren’t armored, don’t even lock or have ignition keys in many cases, are filled with entry tools and potential weapons rioters would love, can’t do their jobs AND remain quickly mobile, and their crews are not trained and equipped for combat. Using a firetruck in this role will only make things WORSE.

  14. Something like this has been coming for a long time. When Trump was first elected, a liberal California friend of mine asked how I felt if California seceded; I told him I would help expedite the paperwork. The point here is that while conservatives have sometimes advanced the idea of separate countries, progressives have had the same ideas.

These people want Trump defeated so that the country can be “unified.” Pro tip: this nation will never be unified because (1) it is obvious that “unified” means that everyone must kowtow to the progressives; (2) our system was set up to allow individual freedom which is not compatible with unification of thought and actions; and (3) this is not what Americans do. Since only a minority of elected officials and Supreme Court justices are inclined to scrap the Constitution, the next reasonable-sounding alternative is to set up a separate government in a defined area – essentially secession from the United States.

As applied to progressives and from a historical standpoint, this is doomed to failure. Anarchy is impossible because not everyone has the same ideas and values; there will always be conflicts in these areas. There are also people, for example RazmaChaz in Seattle, who love power and will step into any power vacuum and, because they love power, will never willingly give it up. Without a fair rule of law, these types of societies will devolve into a kind of feudal structure whose governing principle is “strong, stronger and strongest,” which incidentally is an apt description of today’s Venezuela.

Progressive media is trying to characterize CHAZ as some sort of peaceful utopia-in-progress. Since progressive media is intent on ignoring those parts of the world where totalitarian governments are now failing, perhaps we should allow CHAZ to exist and we can watch this system fail in real time up close. Among other things, I am pretty confident that one of the first things CHAZ will do will be to upgrade their walls – not to keep US law enforcement out, but to keep their people in.

  15. The “innocents” living in CHAZ are doubly screwed. If they try to defend themselves and are successful they’ll be arrested by the “authorities” of the City of Seattle for assault on the “protesters” (a protected class). If they try to defend themselves and are unsuccessful they’ll be beaten or killed by the “authorities” of CHAZ.
Enjoy your options all you “innocents”, you helped create them.

  16. When I was in 8th grade fifty years ago one of the books that was required reading in my homeroom class was Heinlein’s Tunnel in the Sky – about a group of high school kids that got stranded on an unihabited wild planet. It was Heinlein’s answer to Golding’s Lord of the Flies.

The high school kids, rather than devolving to a primitive state of affairs, managed to rise above that inclination BECAUSE they were able to draw on the lessons of history they’d learned in school and the lessons of what government and civilization require that they had learned in school.

The youth of today have been cut off from these lessons of history that are needed to build and maintain civilization. They are like people living in a self-imposed dark age, cut off from all the lessons of history.

They are primitives whose societies have to begin from the very beginning – totally cut off from previous human experience and lessons learned.

They are people living in a dark age cut off from all knowledge and learning built and passed down through the generations.

  17. Isn’t it kind of ironic they had no problem with opening fire and killing a woman holding her baby at Ruby Ridge.
They had no problem killing men, women and kids at Waco.

Yet, nothing they will do to terrorists taking over a large section of a city.
