This letter from George HW Bush to Bill Clinton is nausea inducing

With each passing year, the Bushes become more loathsome. Read this letter the neocon, Bush the Elder, wrote to Clinton during the Bush->Clinton transition.

“Don’t let the critics push you off course”? WTF?!@O@#@^!!? Do you mean the conservatives??

“Your success is the country’s success”???  I guess there’s no difference whatsoever between the parties, right, Mr. New World Order?

“I’m rooting HARD for you”???  I’m sure you were. And I’m positive you’re rooting for Hillary.

Drop dead.

  1. Because Bush sucked so bad, I voted for Perot, and that gave us Clinton and a possible Clinton II. Now I am hearing I was right to not vote for George H because he sucked? Maybe I should have held my nose and voted for a scumbag that said “read my lips”, but I didn’t. Now I am asked to do it again?

  2. I think you might be reaching a little bit there Menderman. Man, you don’t quit do you. I’ll still buy you a beer if you go west, or I go east. Hopefully we would be toasting to a Trump presidency with both of us happy with the outcome.

  3. Joe, seriously, now I am confused…did I do the right thing voting against bush? I look back at it a as protest vote that brought terrible consequences. I have no clue why BFH thinks it is relevant today, but it does remind me that a protest vote is a vote for the opposition, but it seems as if BFH is supporting that with this.

  4. Yeah Menderman, I voted for Perot for the same reasons and it got me 30+ years of the Clintons. That’s why I’ll never do it again……Why ain’t you and —-S still typing in Chinese?…

  5. Menderman, I think back in those days our country was not in such dire straits. We never imagined that Clinton would prove to be such a despicable character and traitor. Now we have a choice between the traitors despicable wife or a Patriot that by all appearances, genuinely loves his family, the people around him, and most importantly for our country, he loves America!

  6. This is especially poignant considering what the vile Clinton jackals left for GHWB’s son when he entered the White House.

The Clintons tore the fuck out of the computers at tax payers expense and stole the furniture.

Not to mention firing the innocent White House Travel personnel.

Not to mention allowing Osama Bin laden to thrive.

Not to mention all the DNA Bill left in the oval office.

If the fucking goddamn Clinton pigs get back in the office I serious hope for an Iranian nuke…we deserve it.

  7. Yeah, Joe, I agree. That was 23 years ago. Why BFH thinks it is relevant today is beyond me. Seems to me he has a hatred for the Bush’s.

(To be fair, that was a dig at Biggie for saying to me time after time after time after time after time after time that I always ‘protect’ the Bush’s)

  8. When H.W. elatedly declared a “New World Order” was forming, I never again entertained any idea of him being a conservative.

It was the last straw that unveiled my self-deceiving eyes that wanted to believe he was a continuation of Reagan’s values. Far from it, he was.

His sons didn’t fall far from the Bush ideology tree, either.

Frankly, I feel a bit used by the Repub party. I certainly don’t want anything they have to offer, today. Come back next time and we’ll see.

  9. HW “never felt the loneliness other Presidents felt” because he never led, and never fought the opposition party, he usually caved.

“Read my lips”? No, kiss my ass, Bush. You NEVER ever deserved to ride Reagan’s coattails.

  10. Moe,

Bush1 was no Reagan, and the “read my lips” thing was an absolute for me, and I voted for Perot out of protest. After 8 years of the Clinton’s and stained dresses, I learned my lesson. After Bubba, my choice was W or Gore…well, like ya know, huh! I voted for W! (I was happy to do it). 9-11 hit and I was glad W was there, not algore. I was very happy how W handled our country after 9-11 and kept us safe, I voted for him again. It was scary to me that Kerry was as close to winning as he was after that crap with Fonda and his fake Purple Hearts. Can you imagine a President Gore or President Kerry?

Good lord! You’re talking me into voting for Trump….

    My head hurts now….

  11. The letter was talked about this week by Hillary, saying it moved her to tears.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG-cQ1gPxfs

She talked about it because the letter talks about “staying the course in the face of critics.”
It was a self-serving, self-sucking move, made possible by a neocon shithead.

That’s why it was posted. I need to answer to you now?

You’re going to do call-out comments questioning what I post, now?

  12. Bush Sr. is soooo concerned about his legacy. I mean, he’s releasing a book of letters he’s written to people to show what an all-around great guy he is. Pathetic. Let other people say nice things about you. Don’t sing your own praises.

  13. BFH I don’t see this as an attack on you.
Many us who were adults during the times leading up to this situation have a bit of a different perspective than you do.
Offering you a window into that perspective is hardly an assault.

  14. OK look. We, the media, everybody are supposed to talk about what Hillary said. That’s how info gets passed around. If she brings up something from 20 years ago, and we talk about it, so what??? Now we laugh at her for trying to make the Bushes her best friends. She’s dying to make us think people love her and it’s failing miserably because the left nor the right cared for GHWB and they certainly don’t give a shit that they like HER. Pfft.

Oh and by the way, Menderman, if you can’t stand it here, there’s the iDoor.
Trying to get Fur to ban you proves you need more attention that I previously realized. It’s sad. Go play somewhere else. I know your antics, you’ve done the same thing to other people while we were friends on facebook. You get off on this stuff. And I’m being nice here. I’ve said nothing to you before, but trust me, your shit got old a month ago.

There is no room on this blog, or any other blog, for you to be drama queening on every fucking thread, making every thread about YOURSELF. Nobody’s interested anymore. You got that? Either you cut this childishness out, or you’re gone. It’s that simple.

Cruz, Yeb, Carson, or whomever you wanted to be preezy are NOT GOING TO BE PREEZY. No matter how much you whine, hold your breath, stomp your lil feet and cry “but but Trump!!!11”.
    Yeah, nobody cares.

So. That being said, I won’t be reading your further comments after today, even if it’s so much as an “LOL”.

Before I leave, a little secret I’d like to share with you all:
Ignoring Menderman would hurt him more than you will ever know. So just do it. And be done with him.

    I’m done.
    Have a good day, y’all.

  15. Menderman, the reason BFH posted this story is because Hitlery is out there talking about it and trying to use this to get republican voters to associate her with the Bush family, and thereby win votes.

It’s a story that pisses me off because it shows how friendly the Repubs are with hard core liberals. They don’t fight them. They just pretend to fight when the cameras are rolling, a la Trey Gowdy.

  16. I appreciate people contextualizing the letter, but it didn’t need to be. My angle was how loathsome the GOP can be behind our backs, how some secretly “root hard” for the left.

I also appreciate people noticing what a pain in the ass, ankle biting pest Menderman has become.

Posting a letter Bush wrote to Clinton becomes a springboard, yet again, for Menderman to work in his anti-Trump comments. This is exactly how my deranged progtard brother acted before I had to jettison him.
Every damn thing became a springboard to jam in some comment about his left-wing politics.
    Me: “Pass the salt.”
Him: “SALT? Did you say salt? You know, we should limit arms to zero, but you right-wing whackos want to blow up the…”

Now I’m getting flashbacks. Any post can be the catalyst for the Menderman show.

“Sit around the campfire boys and girls, Menderman’s gonna tell you all about how this election season is a tough one for him and only him, apparently…… yet again.

No one will be seated during the “I can’t vote for Trump” chapter!

And you won’t want to fall asleep during the exciting “I don’t want to have to hold my nose while I vote” part.”

    MAKE IT STOP!!!!

  17. Well, I hope you don’t think the thumbs down you continually get are a case of bad manners.
That would be a tragic mistake on your part.
You get thumbs down because of dumb comments like the last one you just made.

It’s just simple good manners for a republican to say, “I’m rooting HARD for you”?

“Don’t let the critics push you off course,” is just being polite?

How about, “Congratulations. I wish you and your family good health during your time here in the white house” ?

There, that’s polite and good manners.

The letter above, replete with an underline under “our”, is exactly why we lose ground to the left.
This isn’t a social tea, my friend. This is war, and that letter reveals why we are losing.
It’s bad enough Bush wrote it, it’s worse that anyone who claims to be a conservative reads it and shrugs and yawns and says, “it’s good manners.”

Luckily “critic”s pushed Clinton off his course, despite Bush’s advice, and forced him rightward.

  18. So, just having a meeting, without knowing the results, constitutes a “surrender” in your mind? Seems that for a guy who objects to people putting words in his mouth, you yourself are not only putting words in Trump’s mouth, but you are also jumping to conclusions.

    Careful, your hypocrisy is showing.

  19. The FBI terror watch list has 420,000 names on it, 98% being foreigners.

I’m sure Trump is giving away the 2nd amendment by having a meeting with the NRA to discuss terror watch lists. I’m biting my fingernails into nubs.

And, by the way, does Menderman realize the president doesn’t write laws? The president sets a tone. He approves or vetoes bills.

I’m positive Trump will be an ally of the right passing their bills and a vetoer of leftist bills if any get approved in the senate.

Hillary would be a rubber stamp for the left and a vetoer of the right.
