While out on bond, a 16-year-old accused of assaulting an NYPD officer asked a judge whether he could file charges. When he appeared in front of Judge Althea Drysdale on Tuesday in Manhattan, the 16-year-old boy who requested anonymity asked whether he may file charges.
When asked what specific allegations he wanted to level, he remained silent.
Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, slammed the city’s decision to free the youngster on bail again, saying it New York is a global “laughingstock” over what he called “woke bail rules.”
He will be allowed to move around during the day, but must return to the family center in Brooklyn at night for a curfew. Disturbing film on Saturday showed an unnamed teenage suspect striking a police officer in the head before grabbing his neck and repeatedly smashing him into metal handrails.
The adolescent was detained last Wednesday for armed robbery and possession of a loaded firearm, but was freed the following day after a court appearance.
The city is indeed a joke, and Mayor Adams is in on it. Don’t let him fool you.
The kid isn’t only an arsehole but also an idiot.
Unfortunately, that “kid” has made some adult level bad decisions, and is beyond human redemption. He needs to get hard prison time, or more, not to atone for his crimes, but to serve as a warning to others.
