A bride was reportedly strangled to death by her groom on the night of their wedding because he suspected that she wasn’t a virgin.
The Pakistani woman married her cousin the day before her body was found in her bedroom, and the groom fled the scene after killing her. Police forced their way into the woman’s home, where they discovered her on the bed.
The mother of the bride called the police when she tried to call her daughter the morning after the wedding and received no response.
The death was referred to by many as an “honor killing,” which is carried out by husbands who have reason to believe their wives were not virgins before they married.

“Honor killing” is a euphemism deliberately invented in the 1990s by the British media.
They needed a euphemism to disguise the horror inherent in Islamic life, and present Muslim Family Murder as palatably as possible to Western readers.
CAIR approves the term.
We should reject the euphemism.
Call it what it is. Islamic Murder, Koranic Murder, Gynocide, Muslim Family Murder.

Is it common for Pakistanis to marry their cousins?
The majority of Paki marriages are between first cousins. Big problems with recessive gene birth defects, including mental illness.
She probably appeared to be enjoying her conjugal relations too much to be a virgin, which immediately put her under suspicion. So – under Islamic law, no harm, no foul.
