Toblerone Hit By “Swissness” Law

They are being forced to change the imagery on their packaging because the Swiss Alps (matterhorn)implies the chocolate is made in Switzerland. But they are moving to Slovakia. So by law, they cannot keep the Matterhorn as their logo.

The package will say “Established in Switzerland” instead of “Made in Switzerland.”

If the taste doesn’t change one bit, what is the advantage of saying “Made in Switzerland,” or being made in in Switzerland?

  1. Not a candy eater unless it’s free.
63 year old me (64 this friday) still remembers candy bars for a nickle or dime that you could hide the currently approaching $2 candy bars under.

  2. In 2010, I drove across the Alps and most of Europe.
    Great Pics.
Stopped by Gross Glockner and the Zugspitze too.
Funny connection to one of the shopettes that was stopped at for gas during the month long trip. They had a whole box of Toblerones for half-price on the reduced shelf. They were coming close to the expiration date and the store marked them down. I bought the whole box. Ate a bunch and gave away a bunch. Magical trip. Pic Sets too. A Candyman Cans.

PS: European Food Standards are a High Bar and worth it. Tasty too.

  3. Fuck the Swiss – the way they treated our downed fliers in WWII is a crime and a sin.
No excuse for those maggots to get all testy about an image of a mountain.
Toblerone should tell em to go fuck themselves – that the mountain in the image isn’t the Matterhorn, it’s the Gerlachovský štít.

Switzerland can Fuck Off, Eat Shit, and Die.

  4. I don’t buy the stuff so I guess I don’t care where it’s made or what’s on the front package, if I want it, I’d buy it regardless. I’m happy that they have a mountain as a logo instead of a Hershey Squirt Tranny on the package. The faggotry in your face advertising is forcing the lifestyle on a straight public. Well, why not when an exPresident holds faggot parties at his mansion, and then asks conservatives and Christians to vote for him. To do so is to say one accepts a leader with a flawed character of blasphemy and abominations against God.

  5. @Tim -FJB, I’ve read a fair bit about WWII but didn’t know about the Swiss treatment of POWs! I just read an article I found about an airman, Daniel Culler, and his treatment at their hands. Horrible.
