President Donald Trump intends to appoint the conservative activist Tom Fitton to a D.C. court oversight body with the power to remove judges in the district’s judiciary.
The White House announced Trump’s intention to name Fitton to the D.C.Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure on Friday afternoon. Fitton is the head of the conservative group Judicial Watch and has advocated the investigation of former Obama administration officials, including Hillary Clinton. Fitton will be one vote in seven. I don’t expect his appoinment will mean anything at all.
