Women’s fencer Stephanie Turner refused a match against a transgender opponent at the Cherry Blossom Open in Maryland this past weekend, opting to take a knee instead.

When Turner learned that she would be facing off against transgender fencer Redmond Sullivan, she wanted her protest to be caught on video and decided to take a knee just before the match began. She had already participated in warmups and competed in four bouts that day. More

  1. Good for you young lady. And USA Fencing, you just made fools of yourselves. You have lost the respect of the country. That’s right, the country, the entire country. The liberal ideals are being exposed and America is tired of it. Whine, cry, put a mask on whatever. We are done with you.

  2. I would think this qualifies as legal damage done to her by those in charge. I hope she can find a good lawyer to go after both the governing body and the schools involved. They should have deep enough pockets to interest a decent attorney.

  3. @USA fencing? If there is government funding involved with USA fencing they must not have received recent memos about men in women’s sports or they are exempt from it.
    This needs attention.
People should not be forced to entertain others fantasies.

  4. Yes, we need more of this.

However, when the opposite occurs, like girls playing on HS football teams, nobody seems to complain.

A few years ago there was a girl who actually QB’d her high school football team, I think somewhere in Washington State. There was a more recent case of a girl who was a kicker on her HS football team. I bet the liberal press and magazines, like HuffPost and People, made a huge deal out of it, but other than that, I don’t recall a big hullaballoo or complaints.

And I’m not taking the side of the sick transgender. Someday I hope he regrets having his genitals cut off.

Yea, and this is my foil. It’s was mislabeled a Smith Combat Masterpiece at birth, but being as I know more than anyone, it now identifies as a foil. Now scat motherfucker!

  6. Good on her. She was also mild and kind to the lunatic pretending to be a woman. That’s class and worth a tip of the hat all on its own. Ladies with conviction need to replicate the action including the mild and kind attitude.

  7. Brave lady. Sacrificing a possible lucrative fencing career to represent what is right. Hope she’s got company from fellow female (by birth) fencers. The kindness she showed was admirable. She knows the tyranny is mentally and spiritually ill.
Transgenderism is not only a mental illness, it’s a weaponized social engineering construct. The more people resist the concept, the weaker the effect.

  8. My husband and I were talking about all of this transgender and queer shit the other night. I told him this anti-bullying shit is the root cause.
Back in our day you learned how not to act by your peers. You acted like a sissy boy and you would find yourself shoved into lockers or relentlessly humiliated until you toughened up.
If some boy had showed up at school in a dress every girl would have been kicking him in the nuts until he figured out he was a boy.

  9. That sport, like combat sports, have a lot to do with fast motor twitch muscle fibers. Mens are off the charts higher than women’s. Google it. Google has not yet started to lie about this fact. This woman is a hero in my book. And things flip the other way too. Years ago we had a job in the little shop of horrors, thin wall tube that needed to be dead round. It required being squeezed in a vice. Very fing lightly. My top operators, all men, couldn’t get the feel. So I called our 50 something office manager out and asked her, ever want to run a cnc? We had a great crew and the guys gave her nothing but shit, in a playful way. She loaded the entire 150 pc order with damn near identical vice pressure and every part she loaded met spec. Men and women are different. Sorry. Deal with it. Couldn’t get the bitch back to her desk after that and yes she became one of my highest paid machinists. We’re still in touch.

  10. It was also a wise decision, vis-s-vis possible physical injury–if not to her, then eventually to some other female fencer when faced with a male opponent.

Men in general have longer arms, therefore a longer reach, than most women, and in general have more power behind a lunge. In order to attempt a “touch”, a female fencer would have to advance close enough to a male opponent to be extremely vulnerable to that longer reach and more powerful attack. QED, a woman could end up be skewered through the body by a foil or an epee in the hands of a male opponent.
