Gateway Pundit – The Los Angeles Police Department has been denied $3 Million in federal aid for “law enforcement”. While there is no official announcement as to why, it quite likely has everything to do with LA’s “sanctuary city” status for harboring illegal aliens. As I’m sure most Gateway Pundit readers know, Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions have said they would strip funding from such sanctuary cities.
The L.A. Times reports:
This year, L.A. officials applied for more than $3 million in federal funding to help bring the same program to Harvard Park, a South L.A. neighborhood scarred by violence.
The request was denied.
The U.S. Department of Justice hasn’t offered the LAPD an explanation of why the department didn’t receive any of the $98 million in grants recently awarded to scores of law enforcement agencies across the nation. A spokesman for the federal agency declined to comment when asked by The Times last week.
But after the Trump administration’s repeated threats to withhold federal money from cities that don’t cooperate with its immigration crackdown, some LAPD officials said they believe the move was retaliatory — and a troubling sign of what could come.

I would withhold money from arts programs and such.
Not from law enforcement.

Why should the feds pay a law enforcement agency that doesn’t enforce the law?

Use some of that money from the high speed train from nowhere to nowhere and quit begging, you look silly, I lived in Santa Barbara in the 70’s, worked at the Shell station next to the fig tree, crazy people day and night on US 101, I still to this day tell the stories of all these nut jobs I ran into, some are incredulous. From what I hear it’s 100x worse, God help them!

Every state & city that designated themselves as sanctuaries should not receive any discretionary grant money or funding assistance, period.
The DOJ was right in denying them grant funds. This was a problem created by the City of Los Angeles that, by their own admission, they have no intention of addressing anyway. So what would the grant funds be used for– jailing people who use the wrong pronouns when addressing transgender freaks?
Wonderful. The city fathers say the hell with enforcing the laws but want money to enforce the laws. They wouldn’t happen to be democrats now would they?
This is great! I live in California but far enough away from LA and San Francisco for it to have any kind of effect on me. This is just more winning. A Sheriff told me that they use grants to feed the prisoners. If they lose any money, it will be peanut butter sandwiches for the inmates. Well, what’s wrong with peanut butter sandwiches, it isn’t like staying at the Ritz ya know.
