WashingtonTimes: President-elect Donald Trump has agreed to pay $25 million to settle the Trump University fraud case, the New York attorney general announced Friday.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman called the settlement “a stunning reversal by Donald Trump and a major victory for the over 6,000 victims of his fraudulent university.”
Mr. Trump, who has previous boasted he would not settle the case, faced three lawsuits over the now-defunct university, including two class-action suits filed in California and one in New York. Former students who paid $35,000 for real estate “secrets” from his “handpicked” instructors brought the suits, alleging that Mr. Trump’s for-profit education venture failed to deliver the quality of education promised.
One of the cases had previously been headed toward a Nov. 28 trial, during which Mr. Trump could have potentially taken the witness stand just weeks before his inauguration as president. more here
Well Hillary just wasted a little over $1 billion so that’s not to shabby really.
wise investment, get this out of the way
Those that filed these lawsuits obviously SUCKED at real estate.
Payback is gonna be a bitch Schneiderwoman. 😎
Will Saudi Arabia sue Clinton University next?
This is the mark of a true patriot. Not wanting to be distracted from job #1 (the presidency) he sacrifices some of his wealth to make it go away. Meanwhile the #nevertrump crowd is saying “see, he lied”.
In other news, the “Love Trumps Hate” crowd showed their love to Mike Pence who wanted to attend the play “Hamilton” on Broadway. http://nypost.com/2016/11/19/vp-elect-mike-pence-booed-at-hamilton/
As much as I would have liked to have seen Trump fight this lawsuit it’s better that he end it now. If I were him though I’d keep my investigators on the case for awhile so that when the settlement invariably in some attack he could perhaps point out that a number of the students that joined the suit are doing quite well in real estate and casting doubt on whether the suit was launched for political reasons.
I wonder how many of these students would have really passed the classes. Time will tell when it comes to closing a deal on a house. I see a lot of real estate deals on the web all the time- no money down-buy and sell fixer’s and make thousands. There are no secrets to getting rich-it’s called hard work with long hours. stupid children now a days want it all handed to them on a plater…..
