In the early 80s I worked with an antenna rigger out of Wisconsin my the name of Kent Ortin. Sometimes he’d bring along a couple of his kids as free labor (my Dad had a cleaning/janitorial company so I know all about being shanghaied to ‘give him a hand’). I was doing installations on NOAA Weather Radio transmitters, so I did everything except haul the antenna up the tower and bolt it in place. Kent was a great guy and all of his kids that I met were first rate too.
