Trump would be crazy to support Red Flag Laws

How could a president support Red Flag Laws when his political opposition wants to remove him from office for being too crazy to serve?

The attempt to declare Trump incompetent under the 25th Amendment is all the president would need to know in order to strike down red flags laws…unless, of course, he IS crazy. (*I don’t think he is.)

American Greatness-

In support of this effort, prominent psychologists opined contrary to their ethical rules about the president’s mental health. The FBI deemed him unworthy of the normal deference and respect due to a president, treating him instead as a target in his first days in office. Prominent law professors explained how his removal would be entirely lawful and reasonable. In a shocking departure from the norm, a rogue Department of Justice official, Rod Rosenstein, offered to wear a wire to entrap the president. If the president, with the power and platform he possesses, could be so harried by weaponized psychiatry, a run-of-the-mill gun owner stands little chance.

  1. Trump moving toward gun control (he’s already established one gun control law by simple edict without legislation) is going to cost him votes whether he believes it or not.

And it is highly unlikely to gain him any. Those who hate him are not going to quit hating him.

Budget, no real deterrents on illegal immigration (greater numbers now than before he took office), outright seeking new gun controls, and so on may well end up costing him the next election. Especially so if the economy quits performing, which seems to be something a growing number of financial people think may be on the horizon.

I’d say call your local Republican headquarters and comment about it, but they are likely to be in the anti-Trump camp and will consider it reason to encourage him.

    We’ll know soon enough.

  2. ANY “gun laws” punish millions of law-abiding gun owners for the (already) illegal actions of a handful, usually those of the same ideology, ironically enough, as the gun grabbers themselves. Like the guy said; criminals, by definition, do not obey laws, gun or otherwise.
I’m tired of having to jump through hoops to exercise a right I’ve done NOTHING to be denied.

  3. “Red-flag” laws will deem insane all conservatives, those who believe in God, those who want small government, those who don’t recognize transgenders, climate change “deniers”, those who visit IOTW (especially), etc. etc. etc.

  4. He already slammed Fredo Cuomo with a Red Flag joke on Twitter. I don’t think Trump is going to go for this.
And yeah, I know Ivanka is pushing for extra gun laws. But she’s a twit and he doesn’t seem to agree with her a lot.

BTW, I don’t like her or the dude she’s married to. I think they’re pushy and annoying desperate to look like they’re “helping”. They both need to go.

  5. He better not or he will be a one termer. In the gun forums I follow most everyone says if he passes anymore gun laws, they will stay home for the election or vote for a d-rat in hopes it will kick off a civil war.
