Trump’s Charge About Bad Canadian Healthcare is Corroborated By … Canada

Toronto Sun-   “If you ever notice the Canadians when they need a big operation, when something happens, they come into the United States in many cases because their system is so slow it’s catastrophic in certain ways.”

It was like Trump was speaking directly to the mayor of Trent Hills — one loud-mouthed politician to another — all the way across the ocean in an out-of-country hospital that he was forced to go to in order to receive life-saving surgery.

Our pal Hector got up at 3 a.m. to watch the debate and on Thanksgiving Monday was enjoying seeing all the coverage of it in the German newspapers.

“It’s the first time I heard him say something that was close to truthful,” teased Macmillan, who is in recovery from NanoKnife IRE surgery for pancreatic cancer. “I watched the entire debate and noted Trump’s health-care comments.”

Hector for months has answered his calls by saying: “I have been sentenced to die by the Ontario government.”

Since Ontario would not help him, Macmillan’s first choice was Kentucky. But OHIP would not cover the $300,000 cost.

Thanks to social media he was able to raise $50,000 to cover surgery in Germany. Hector tells me many people are already contacting the doctors where he is in Stralsund and at the hospital in Kentucky because they can’t get help locally.

Our system is hardly brag worthy. Trump shed some light on that.

But not everybody appreciated what Trump said — Toronto Councillor Norm Kelly tweeted: “Keep our country’s name out of your mouth, @realDonaldTrump.”

Norm Kelly

Keep our country’s name out of your mouth,@realDonaldTrump.

In Ontario, some people have to wait months for a specialist appointment or an MRI. Even longer for surgery. Trump got that right.

Hec is living proof. Instead of being here in Toronto where we have incredible doctors and the same technology, know-how and equipment, he is in Germany.

And to Trump’s point, his choice had been the United States.

  1. There is an entire medical industry in the border states built around providing serious health care for Canadians who can’t wait for their miserable socialzed medicine. I personally know of a least a dozen people whose lives were saved because they rushed across the border for medical care.

  2. True hurts doesn’t it Norm Kelly? You socialists gainsay and deny with utmost contempt, obfuscate and lie with relish, and are not worth of being in anyone’s thoughts or words, putz! You shall not live in our heads rentfree, like we do yours.

  3. Canadians feel it is more virtuous to die in line for health care that you have coverage for, than to die because you don’t have coverage. The autopsy wouldn’t reveal any difference.

  4. The Detroit area hospitals and clinics are full of Canadians getting treatments and surgery..More amazing is that Detroit area hospitals are staffed by over 5,000 Canadian Doctors and Nurses etc..

  5. So do leaders from every other country in the world — they ALL come here for major surgery. ALL of the world’s medical, med tech, and pharmaceutical advances — ALL OF THEM — come from the US. Yes our health care is comparatively expensive and I’m sure it could be made more efficient, but you also get what you pay for and we also are paying the health care of tens of millions of illegals and other turders. In my dr’s office, there are about 20% white English speaking patients, about 80% beaners and other turders. Guess who is paying for them. Readers at this site know all this, but your average dumbass on the street with a hillary bumper sticker doesn’t get it b/c they can’t add and are morons.

  6. As an American ex-pat living in Canada, I can tell you Trump was spot on. When I first became covered under OHIP in Ontario, I went to see my doctor (I got lucky that my husband’a doctor was willing to add me to his patient list because it’s very difficult finding a doctor), and he referred me to a dermatologist for a rash I had developed. A month later, the dermatologist’s office phoned to tell me that they had an appointment set for me for nine months later! Well, I went back to visit family in California a couple months later, opened up the Yellow Pages, found a dermatologist that was able to see me the very next day. I paid $75 for the office visit, got a prescription filled, and the rash went away. My husband has some back problems, and the Doc referred him to a pain management clinic. His first appointment at the pain clinic was last month…13 months AFTER the referral. Socialized medicine sucks!

  7. Hey F U Norm Kelly. Keep your worthless carcass out of our top dog nation, and stay in your useless inconsequential pathetic country that is a complete zero on the world stage and has almost zero redeeming qualities. Who are you to speak to the US? I don’t think you understand your position on the totem pole (bottom) via-a-vis the US — the Top Dog. pathetic little turd

  8. I’m not quite done with you, Kelly. I think your country sucks and is pathetic. You think you are really cool with your big tax liberal big government country. I hink you suck. I have visited several of your cities and many of the people are very hospitable and all that, but you all would move to the US if you had a chance b/c of your stupid liberal big government useless spineless politicians. I was in a meeting a few weeks ago with the mayor of one of your largest cities — a complete freak liberal useless pussified lying azzhole. That is what I think of Canada. YOU SUCK. Stay on your side of the border. We need your useless country like we need another illegal immigrant. If Surinam invaded your country you would roll over like the pussies that you are.

  9. @Charlie WalksonWater:

two great things to come out of canada besides its people, SCTV and Canadian Geese.

And Canada geese move in, take over, refuse to leave, and crap on absolutely everything. And to cap it off, Canada geese don’t taste very good.
