President Trump’s cleanup of crime and homelessness at Washington offers an opportunity to reshape the national debate on public safety, and urban disorder, across the country. Too often it has been taken for granted by bien-pensant liberals that the squalor of homelessness is a fact of life in America’s big cities. Public amenities like parks and libraries are too frequently ceded to derelicts. Mr. Trump’s strategy amounts to an overdue course correction.
The anti-crime campaign at the Columbia District gives Democrats, too, a chance, if they are willing to take it, to tack to the center on this head. It’s a point marked by one of the party’s relative moderates, Congressman Ritchie Torres of New York. “We as Democrats should be careful not to cede the issue of public safety to Donald Trump and Republicans,” Mr. Torres reckons. “We should own the issue of public safety, because it matters to voters.”
The Times reports that Mr. Trump “has pushed the issue of crime back to the foreground of American politics” and “invited a fight with Democrats.” The opposition party, as the Times puts it, is “treading cautiously” as it seeks “to forcefully oppose the federal incursion” at D.C., “without getting caught up in a debate over public safety on Mr. Trump’s terms.” The Times points to Mr. Torres’s remarks as a signal of the Democrats’ dilemma. more here

Only a fool would suggest, let alone believe, that the left could side with Trump on any issue. Why even the laws of physics prove it to be an impossibility. The only hope is that TDS metastasizes and kills the host.
Democrats already know how to do this stuff, if only for three days during one of their conventions or a visit by foreign dignitaries. They’d like to make it permanent, but they’re too weak and fearful. They’re secretly attracted to the clean safety of Russian or Chinese cities, and we already know they’re gaga for authoritarianism, but they’d just die if they were forced to admit it.
They’re like the woman in a 40’s movie who slaps the hell out of the brute she’s really in love with. Sure, she kick and scream when Daddy Dragnet comes swaggering along, sweeps her off her streets, ravishes her to her urban center, and makes it clear he’s there to stay, she’ll pretend to sulk a little, but she’ll make his sammich for him, because life is much better now.

The biggest improvement between Trump 1.0 (2017-2021) and Trump 2.0 (2025-) is that Trump finally figured out that pretending to be a hard ass is no where near as valuable to the country as actually being a hard ass. Promising to deport illegals is merely sounding good. Actually deporting them is BEING great. Tweeting LAW & ORDER, counts for fuckall. Sending the National Guard out after the ubiquitous, out of control urban thug class is true greatness.
Trump finally realized the internal political system hates him and always will. Fuck ’em. Now because he stopped caring about ingratiating himself to a pack of useless fuckwits, now he’s got a chance to make the history books in a positive way.
And, of course, the democrats, being the usual clueless retards they are, are now trying to mimic the blustering aspects of Trump’s personality which are, in fact, his most annoying and useless traits while simultaneously opposing Trump at all the great hard ass things he’s doing in his 2.0 phase.
