The worldwide scientific community is still working around the clock to verify claims of a new superconductor that might yet revolutionize human civilization. Now, we have two pretty convincing videos showing the substance floating in the air. Scientists with the Huazhong University of Science and Technology claim to have replicated LK-99’s levitation abilities at room temperature, which they showcased in a video uploaded to Bilibili. And Zhang Chiang, from Wuhan University also in China, has uploaded a new video as of Saturday. More

Parlor tricks.
Trouble can happen when you try to connect a super conductor to a regular conductor, like copper, silver or gold. The electrons don’t want to leave the ‘superhighway’ and get on the slow road.
Right now the places a SC are useful are very limited. Even one that works (which hasn’t happened yet) at room temperature.
I think I was 12 when I heard the first “superconductor at room temperature” claim.
I’m a far cry from 12…
Sigh*
It’s probably a new Covid, ready for high speed distribution, and just in time for the next election, too…
Meanwhile, a 1,000 years worth of USA energy sits in the desert in the form of already mined raw Thorium, left over from the Manhattan Project, waiting for someone to get their act together and complete the liquid fluoride thorium reactor design. We’ve been sitting on this for 50 years….
Damn Jethro, your post reminded me of a Hulk vs Thor comic I had back in the day.
Gamma Rays and Thorium…
The track for this stuff to prove out is very long and has a large number of very high hurdles. The odds are looooooong, but at least this one very early step of replicating the levitation has been done.
I’m with Jethro. I want Thorium power. We’ve waited ridiculously too long.
Yeah right, and my perpetual motion machine is almost finished, I’m just putting the finishing touches on.
@Loco
Thorium in it’s natural form is inert. It’s everywhere. A fist-full of Thorium will provide all the energy one human needs for a lifetime. There are 100’s of thousands of years of Thorium available and easily mined.
In a LFTR reactor, when blasted with neutrons from seeded Uranium 233 Thorium decays to U233 also and it begins to release massive amounts of thermal energy in the process. This all occurs in a molten salt solution where it is cycled to remove the heat and introduce new seed U233. If something goes wrong the plug is pulled and the molten salt drains from the system and solidifies in a chamber below. Very quickly the limited amount of U233 decays to non-radioactive elements.
I may not have this perfectly explained. Go here: energyfromthorium.com

Hey, China…..ya’ll wanna come study my toilet. I got turds that float on water.
Lots of uses for Super Conductors. Like every time you get an MRI.
I don’t trust anything that comes from South Korea and I damn sure don’t trust anything that comes from Chyna.
@ Brad
Some of the mid level Korean guitars from various brands are actually quite good…..China not so much.
But that’s all I got
LK-99 floats?
Bah.
I much prefer root beer floats.
idunno … color me skeptical
one would think that if this was some sort of ‘breakthrough’ there would be better video than what was shown. & better proof
besides …. any ‘breakthrough’ by China was stolen from (or financed by) the US
Wuhan again.
I don’t trust anything China does
New technology is great; shame they always try to use it to enslave people.
