My Gr-grandparents came to the US from Trondheim, Norway and Uff-Da is a Norskie phrase. Let me illustrate…..
“Uff-da” is said when you are walking in a pasture and you almost step in a steaming pile of bovine cookies.
“Fee-da” is said when you DO step in the pile.
