The Cook name has been associated with travel arranging for over 150 years in Great Britain. Over night, the Thomas Cook Group crashed, ceased operations after last minute efforts to keep the troubled tour operator afloat.

    This has happened routinely every two or three years since the early 90’s. Maybe not this particular one, but one’s just like them. Same story every time too. Same passenger stories every time too.

  2. When I was stationed in England during the mid-70’s, everything was a cluster…uh…. well, you know. Either the entire National Ambulance Service was on strike or the Royal Mail was on strike or the Tube Train workers were on strike, but someone was always on strike. Being stranded was a way of life for the Brits back then. They seemed resigned to their fate.
