Radio report said 600,000 were stranded, the 150,000 were British subjects. To the UK press, brits are the only ones who matter.

This has happened routinely every two or three years since the early 90’s. Maybe not this particular one, but one’s just like them. Same story every time too. Same passenger stories every time too.
Holy Cow!! When I traveled to Europe I used Thomas Cook travelers cheques. I wonder if those are caput too? That would be a MAJOR drag for those people.

When I was stationed in England during the mid-70’s, everything was a cluster…uh…. well, you know. Either the entire National Ambulance Service was on strike or the Royal Mail was on strike or the Tube Train workers were on strike, but someone was always on strike. Being stranded was a way of life for the Brits back then. They seemed resigned to their fate.
