Moonbattery: Number 2 among the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto is “A Heavy Progressive or Graduated Income Tax.” Although Karl Marx was a pathetic loser in life, he has succeeded wildly in death. In the ostensibly anti-communist USA, we even have heavy progressive or graduated parking fees:

Pretty soon, parking fees will be the only thing graduated at UT.
It’s actually a descending “graduation.”
The more one makes, the lower the bite (as a percentage, and in real terms).
Rate 1: $20 or 0.06% of income.
Rate 2: $30 or 0.05% of income, but 50% greater than Rate 1.
Rate 3: $35 or 0.023% of income, but 75% greater than Rate 1.
Rate 4: $50 or 0.033% of income, but 150% greater than Rate 1.
This is not “equity” but disguising their pandering to the “rich.”
The “rich” should be forced to walk at the very least, or to pull a rickshaw carrying the “poor” to their classrooms and offices.
THAT would be “equity.” THAT would be “justice.”
