2 Supernightshade – I’m a chick magnet, meet my girls. This is Betty, Boo, Henrietta, Hazel, Henny Penny, and Prissy. Momma raised them together from 1 day old squabs to 10 week old pullets, and they rule the back yard.

I have a pet chameleon…
When I get really bored I feed him LSD and then watch his Hallucinations
Thanks for posting my terrible clucking pic of my adopted girls, Claudia. Expect more, especially of my Bald Eagle, Betty. She’s the one that looks like America up towards the top right, and Mrs. Shade actually named her Betty White for her white head and REALLY bad attitude. She and her sister, Boo (named for Chicken Boo in the Animaniacs), which is the lighter colored one above Betty, are Americanas, and meaness seems to be a breed trait, and they’re fast, too.
The darker ones without speckles are Henrietta and Hazel, with Henrietta having a bit more blue in her feathers. These are the most stereotype looking chickens, what most folk think of as chickens. This breed is called sex link, and no, not for nasty reasons, but because you can tell the boys from the girls as squabs, which is important when you don’t want more roosters or live somewhere you can’t have thrm, like me. Chicken sexing ain’t easy, that’s why you pay someone else to do it, but these gals do simplify it.
Although I suppose the “trans” movement would try to force farmers to repaint them because, confusion.
The last two, Henny Penny and Prissy, are Plymoth Rock chickens and the most passive in the coop. These gals are the easiest to catch and pretty much the bottom of the literal pecking order, too. Not good meat birds – none of these are – but good egg layers, which is why the wife wanted them (well, that, and I think she wanted them as pets, too, but don’t tell them or they’ll get lazy).
No eggs yet, they’re too young, but they will have different color, nonwhite eggs, PERFECT for modern life. The yolk is still yellow and the white is still white, though, and those are the only parts I care about…
Happy Sunday, Claudia, and all who want a break from the mayhem in this peaceful feature. God gave us animals so we can have a break from dealing with people, so sometimes, I go outside and watch The Chicken Channel, they’re a riot, but the GOOD kind.
God Bless,

“And obviously quite the rake, you playa you.”
…naaah, they only like me because they’ve been “cooped up” so long…
(…and in my defense the rake is holding the door open, which has always been my station in life for chicks anyway, so you’re more right than you know…:>)
Be blessed, Dadof4. Happy Sunday to you as well.
All Squirrels Matter!
wass that albumin skwrill smell like?
Good morning to all, happy Sunday!
It’s good to know that here at iOTW, All Critters Matter. Even the unusual ones.
Good Sunday Morning
As always Claudia great job sharing God’s creature’s to all.
Great pictures, brings back memories of my Grandma’s chickens.
Love those Scottish Highlanders in the mist. They are a real sight when you encounter a herd of them in a Highland field north of Inverness.

“Love those Scottish Highlanders in the mist. They are a real sight when you encounter a herd of them in a Highland field north of Inverness.”
Ach, a Scot! Good on you, laddie! I’ve never made it across Hadrian’s Wall, but I’d like to someday.
Claudia could tell you I’m Scot enough to have piped before.
But she could AlSO tell you that I’m not enough Scot to be GOOD at it, if she weren’t so nice…
…however, it DOES scare the chickens back into the coop, so it’s not ALL bad, but that makes me wonder if that wasn’t what it was INVENTED for, to help herd the sheep as well, because few creatures seem to LIKE the pipes, played well or badly, just sayin’…
SNS: Actually my People all came over here from Scandinavia, Holland and Ireland, but I love everything about what used to be called the British Isles. Scottish Highlanders are a sight to behold, especially if you don’t get to see the Loch Ness Monster whilst driving around in all that rain.
Mornin’ everyone, exotics are always fun to watch!
Not to pettable and mushable though…
Thanks C!

“Not to pettable and mushable though…”
…That’s what I tell my wife about the chickens, but she just goes and hugs their nasty, vicious nuggets anyway…doesn’t make ’em any NICER, but it DOES make ’em NOISIER…

“SNS: Actually my People all came over here from Scandinavia, Holland and Ireland…”
…not sure if I’m insulting you or giving you a laugh here because you don’t say WHICH country in Scandinavia, but this is how I heard this, so here goes…
Q. What does Sweden have that Norway DOESN’T have.
A. GOOD NEIGHBORS!
…you may now hate me or laugh with me as you will, I don’t really know if it’s true, just thought it was funny…
…but, to judge by the Muslim takeover of Sweden, I’d say it is…NOW…
