USAF Thunderbirds Take To The UK Skies

After a ten year absence (i.e. the Obama era) the precision flying demonstration squadron of the U.S. Air Force, the Thunderbirds, are practicing over  The United Kingdom. They’ve been seen in recent days over Salisbury Plain (Stonehenge) and Scotland’s Loch Ness.

  1. Years ago they were a surprise guest at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. Man, what a rush they were. They flew over from Buffalo and did a shortenend routine. We had seen the Canadian Snowbirds and there is nothing like them in really close, in tight flying and maneuvering but the ThunderBirds were fast, loud as flew right at the edge. Lucky Brits, unless that dipshit of a London Mayor doesn’t try to ban them.

  2. I know for a fact some of the Brits watching these guys in person feel the same pride in their abilities we do at airshows here.

England isn’t lost. It’s just quite ill at the moment.

  3. Dang! My version of Heaven is that you’ll be able to do all the things you would have done if you’d been able to while living on earth. I hope that is so. This is near the top of my list. Aim High! Go Air Force!

(Lowell, I’m with you. As usual, we will lead them back.)

  4. How better to celebrate the 70th Anniversary and reanimation of American Pride than F-16s in tight form over Stonehenge?

The West is back MFers. Suck. On. That.

  5. I’ve seen their show. They fly the F-16 falcons, an incredibly tight turning aircraft. It’s a spectacular show. I’ve also seen the blue angles several times who fly the F-18 hornet. Both put on a thrilling show and will give you a sense of pride.
