Another good story with another very apt Biblical reference. We are fortunate that Ms. Issacs lets us enjoy her works here.
But my mind never leaves me in peace when I read her works, and this is no exception. Despite nothing in the narrative to suggest an issue, my personal background would make me mistrust ANYONE who isn’t there with a specific child, Miss Ella included. I know what she SAYS she is and what she SAYS she’s doing, but she could ALSO be there every day scoping for lightly attended children for grabbers in unmarked vans.
Perhaps I’d feel differently talking to her as Jeff does where you can apply discerment, but my trust level always STARTS at zero and needs to be built before I take ANYONE at face value, but that’s just me…
