Biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy suspended his bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination on Monday and endorsed former President Donald Trump after a disappointing finish in Iowa’s leadoff caucuses, the AP reports. Ramaswamy, a 38-year-old political novice who sought to replicate Trump’s rise as a bombastic, wealthy outsider, said, “As of this moment we are going to suspend this presidential campaign. There’s no path for me to be the next president absent things that we don’t want to see happen in this country.” During the campaign, he needled his opponents but praised Trump as “the best president of the 21st century.” He argued, though, that Republicans should opt for “fresh legs” and “take our America First agenda to the next level.”

I have major concerns about Vivek as president (not that he had a chance), particularly from the video posted here a couple of days ago. But if I can hire and fire him… if I were Trump I’d make him czar of eliminations and have him cut departments and jobs across the administration. And if he acts deep-statey, just can him.
Alternatively, he could be the next Sarah Huckabee.
Vivek pissed off a lot of the Trump base with some of his attempts to get the base to vote for him and referring to MAGA as our movement as if he had anything to do with building it. The movement is 9 years old now and Vivek was never took part of it until last year. If he was so passionate where was he from 2015-2022. Dropping out and supporting Trump was the only path to save his political viability.
I’ll continue to reserve judgment for the time being. I’m not sure what to conclude yet. Don’t look to be all that genuine though.
