Sandman’s tweeted that that was 2 down and 6 to go (the nets, Rolling Stones, Gannett and NYT).
I am so happy to see this. I hope the settlement was large enough to hurt the WP. With the publishing / news industry hurting already, they will now have to suck up a few million more in losses.
However, I do not see any of these rags making any changes.
I hope he didn’t agree to a non-disclosure settlement. Usually the defendant offers more money for a non-disclosure and threatens lengthy, money draining appeals if not. Having said that the lad won, I suspect, a nice chunk of cash previously because the defendant was scared shitless of this ending up in front of a jury. Now the kid has the cash to go all the way in court and maybe win at least $275 mill. If he makes the settlement public he’ll give courage (and make a target of the media for legions of shysters) to people wronged to go to court. Finally the media will become the prey instead of the hunter.
The rags won’t change but good for that boy and family. It was truly awful what happened to him. When you are young and put on the spot like that, it’s hard to know how to handle. He did just fine but still not a good expericne.

Whatever the settlement is (and others to follow), it’s chump change to Soros. Make no mistake about it, HE is driving – AND funding – this whole take down of America. It’s in his satan complex DNA.
I love stories with a happy ending…..just ain’t enough of them.
I hope he got a lot, and I hope he is wise in putting it to good use.

At least the mayor of Washington DC, where the Sandeman incident occurred, is focused like a laser, on face masks and renaming the football team. Is fully supportive of the removal of Democrats of the past statues. The important stuff while the black on black murder rate soars.

I’m also dyin’ to know what he got. Whether or not it hurts WaPo isn’t that important: whatever his lawyers also got is seed money for litigation expenses against a whole lot of other defendants. 🙂

* A Front Pg or Opening TV news statement admitting fault for 7 days.
* A Simple apology on the front page or the 1st 4 mins for 7 days.
* A 2 year court appointed 3 US Citizen member Fact Check Panel.
* and the termination of the editors and reporters involved.
Now you know why Nick was smiling at the Indian.
