  1. I hope this guy recovers from the heart attack. If it killed him, I would hope that the perps would be charged with felony murder but this is Cali afterall…

  2. ” – Man, 80, Defends His Liquor Store”

This is not entirely accurate, and is not something he or anyone who loves him should say to the police, or at his trial.

Because he wasn’t defending his store, he was defending his LIFE.

…when a man puts a gun in your face and threatens to shoot you for whatever reason, I can’t imagine anything that is a more direct threat to your life. He could slip or be anxious and pull the trigger in his jitters. He could have rage issues and just shoot you. He may not like the expression on your face or think that shocked hesitation is noncompliance and disrepspect and shoot you immediately. It’s not a threat to your stuff, it’s a threat to YOU.

And therefore you are in fear for your life, and totally justified in shooting him until the threat is ended.

…but bear in mind that compliance may not let you live either. Suppose that he had meekly complied, and Bad Guy didn’t notice the cameras, or just didn’t think about them. Street thugs aren’t known for their intellect. He robs you at gunpoint and decides he needs to get rid of the witness. How you gonna stop him?

This is doubly dangerous if you yourself HAVE a weapon. So you comply and dude takes YOUR pistol. What now? Could be, his gun didn’t work or wasn’t real, but now you just gave him a fully loaded one that DOES work. Must be his lucky day! Maybe he shoots you with your own gun because it can’t be traced to him, maybe he goes on to shoot other people with your gun that can be traced to you, lots of bad things can happen if you give up your gun. You have to fight to retain possesion of your gun to protect your life as well.

And having a gun stuck in your face is stressful, too. Ask the 80 year old dude with the heart attack if it isn’t. There are many ways to die that do NOT involve actually getting shotm some less pleasant than others.

And an extreme example of compliance not having the desired effect, look what happens if you do not shoot someone who is willing to shoot you and your entire family so he can have your stuff.

…so no, don’t frame it as protecting his liquor store.

Because he is fighting for his life.

And that can be a VERY important distinction, should you survive the encounter, in this Democrat ruined world.

  3. 2:48 AM is kind late for me to be up watching my cameras, and I’m a few years from 80. I do bar my doors, but I’m not too good at waking up alert. Gun is on the floor next to my bed every night. I live in NY state where lame leaders all think you should roll over and die when attacked or threatened so criminals don’t get hurt and don’t spend much or any time off the streets.

  4. Sounds like the robber was Gaige Grosskreutz, the same antifa punk shot by Kyle Rittenhouse… “HE VAPORIZED MY ARM”!

Too bad the old man didn’t aim better.

  5. Lesson…
Where were the cops? Minutes to 1/2 hour away!
Protecting yourself with the democrats version of a baseball bat would not have worked in this situation, yet they want to disarm us and let the criminals be the only ones armed!

  6. Regardless the report,I doubt he had a “heart attack”. 80 year-old was released from the hospital the next day; they would not have released an elderly patient had he experienced an MI.

  7. I grew up in Norco. It is called “Horsetown, USA”. It is also the hometown of Lance Cpl. Kareem M. Nikoui, 20, who was killed by the Biden regime’s atrocious Afghanistan withdrawal.
Good on this man for defending his life and property.
They should make the audio available of every such shooting. When the potential bad guys hear the perps screaming like little girls, it may dissuade them from their actions. Plus, it adds to the entertainment factor for me!

    …yes, but…

…when I was running the streets on the Little Red Truck, one of the lessons I found about operating around assisted living facilities in particular was that you did NOT approach them under full Code 3 sail, lights spinning and sirens ahowl, unless you wanted to start an ambulance carousel of senior citizens who woke up suddenly and think they’re having a heart attack.

It was understandable because quite a few of these folks had cardiac and digestive issues and suddenly being startled from sleep by howling noises can aggravate these, causing their chests to genuinely hurt. The ambulance, of course, aggrivated the situation with the power of suggestion, and that place at that time was only BARELY “assisted”, with one scared and lightly trained not very young woman as the only help provided overnight, who usually just got folks MORE riled up as a scared person you turn to for help will increase your fear because you think they know something you don’t.

And this wasn’t the cute dispersed cottege kind, either, but it was a multstory stack of elderly, with all in the front having a wonderful view of the driveway and the ambulance therein; and if they got out in the halls to see what the problem was, they’d rub their fears together and also make it worse.

And as always at such places, there’s a subset who is so lonely they seek medical help just to have contact with another human being.

Life can be very sad. For the solo, unloved, ignored old person, extremely sad indeed.

…but you -had- to take ALL those complaints seriously, because they -might- actually be dying. A medic is not a cardiologist, an ambulance is not a hospital, and a 3 lead EKG does not give a comprehensive picture of all the possibilities, so in all probability anyone presenting with symptoms, ESPECIALLY if they’re elderly and have a heart hx, will be quickly removed to the hospital to “rule out” a myocardial infarction, among other things.

Doesn’t mean they have one, just means that’s for the doctor to decide.

..that’s probably what happened here. The old fellow just had a VERY exciting and stressful evening, and his chest probably DOES hurt. He’s taken to the hospital as a precaution, the press misconstrues and/or oversimplifies it as “a heart attack” (you see that kind of misreporting a *LOT* in emergency services, either because they’re lazy, unable to get real info on a deadline, trying to get hype, or all three), and so as far as We The Public are informed, a heart attack it is.

Its just journos being journos. Belive little of what you see and none of what you hear.

    Because its probably not true.

    And they don’t care.
