  1. That works for me. Thanks Claudia. On a side note, I was watching old tv shows on you tube and came across episodes of the Green Hornet. One of the bad guys was called, Al Trump, and the episode was about a secret gun in a unknown .17 caliber. If you’re interested just search on YouTube for Green Hornet. Episode 1. The Silent Gun.

  2. …thank you for this nice thread, @Claudia, it’s good to have something that’s not about Coronavirus or evil, once in awhile.

Since this is a nicer thread, I apologize to Claudia but I need to thread jack, just a little. You see, my own little guy, who’s quite a bit older than THIS fellow, but will always be MY boy, is going in for the conclusion of his distraction and osteogenesis surgery. This is the continuation of the one that I wore everyone here out about a few months back, when his post-surgical “care” almost killed him.

Sadly, we have to go to the same institution for this one, but there’s two ways it can go. One, the surgeon sees what he EXPECTS to see, and it’s a relatively simple (for him) surgery in which the mountings for the distractors are removed, holes patched, and we take him home that night.

Two, the surgeon goes in, finds MORE problems than he expects, and has to cut bone off of his hip to build up support for his pallet. THIS is a MAJOR deal and a long hospital stay.

Either way, it’s general anesthesia, which carries it’s own risk.

What I’m asking here us that my iOTW family do what they’ve done so well before – pray for my son, that he gets the “easy”, one-day one; pray his surgeon’s hand is steady; that his recovery is uneventful and his pain is minimal, and that God guards him and reminds him once again of His glory as the Ultimate Physician.

Pray for my wife and I, too. I know I can trust the Lord, but the Devil likes to play back other things I’ve seen to give me doubts. My wife is better grounded in the Lord and also less aware of the grotty realites of medical mishaps, but she needs prayer to get her through too, as well as to put up with ME pacing around the whole time.

The hospital is very weird because of Corona, and we’re going to be treated like infections agents, and if any of us is even SLIGHTLY warm…and they WILL check…surgery is OFF, so pray that’s OK, too.

I thank you all for the support you’ve lent over the years. We may not know each other’s names, but that never stopped us from bearing each other’s burdens. God will guide, but I always feel better if He hears from a prayer warrior or two as well, and we seem to have some good ‘uns right here.

“9 Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him [that is] alone when he falleth; for [he hath] not another to help him up.

11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm [alone]?

12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
    Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

  3. SNS,
Am praying now. Asking for God’s favor for your son, you, your wife and all your loved ones. Also asking St Raphael to make everything ready and free of problems for your son’s healing.
