“We want to know if it’s still there.”

P M

Elon Musk, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and Senator Mike Lee (R_UT) are demanding access to Fort Knox in order to examine the reserves of gold the country keeps stored there.

On Monday, Musk said it would be “cool to do a live video walkthrough of Fort Knox.”

Lee responded, and said that he has tried “repeatedly” to get into the Kentucky fort, being told by officials at the fort, “you can’t come to Fort Knox.” When pressed for why he couldn’t go, he recounted that he was told, “It’s a military installation.” When Lee noted that as a Senator, he has visited military bases “all the time,” Lee said officials denied him entry, saying, “You still can’t come. Because, you can’t.”

In response, Musk told Lee, “Who is confirming that gold wasn’t stolen from Fort Knox? Maybe it’s there, maybe it’s not. That gold is owned by the American public! We want to know if it’s still there.” more

  1. Everyone involved with or knowing about the empty vaults will work like hell to prevent the news getting out because they want to have retired and died of old age by then.

  2. If you are gullible enough to be satisfied that the vaults are full of bars, then you are an idiot. Who cares how full they are? WHAT ARE THEY (gold or something else)? HOW PURE ARE THEY? AND WHO ACTUALLY, ACTUALLY, OWNS THEM (yes, I said ACTUALLY twice on purpose). A full, complete, physical AND FINANCIAL audit is required. NOTHING LESS.

How big of an economic crash would ensue?
    —–End of the dinosaurs
    ——Noah’s flood
    —–Fall of Rome
    Shall I go on?
The jig would be uniequivically up, on the valeue of the “dollar”

  4. “WHAT ARE THEY (gold or something else)? HOW PURE ARE THEY”

This isn’t the 1960’s sport. There’s about 5 different ways of telling exactly what and how pure those bars are, with out touching them.
XRF tech being the most common.

  5. Brad – good, that will make it go faster (but XRF only tells the surface, not internally – like gold-plated tungsten as has been suggested by many, and has been found in other counterfeits). Why question my thoughts? I don’t care HOW its done, just that its done. Far too many are going to be happy seeing gold shiny bricks without ANY of the other questions being answered.

They have several different technology that can determine mass density. So your argument is mute. Also, both Tungsten and Gold are considered non magnetic. Tungsten will hold zero magnetic charge. Gold will hold a very minute one. But the easiest, simplest way to tell the difference is hardness. Tungsten is at a 66 Rockwell. Gold is a mushy 26 Rockwell. You can check that walking down the rows of stacked gold bars with a hand held hardness checker. Bottom line we can easily determine if that is gold, or not.
I doubt if the gold is there. In fact, I’m hoping it’s not.

  7. Sidebar: The standard gold bullion bar used by all the big boys including (they claim) Ft. Knox, is called the Good Delivery Bar. They weigh about 400 Troy ounces, or in the neighborhood of 27.4 pounds. At the current spot price of $2,935/ozT one bar is worth about $1,174,000.

  8. Brad…great…whatever it takes. I’m not questioning technology or trying to impune anything…just saying when the audit is over we MUST KNOW ALL THE TRUTH REGARDING WHAT IS THERE. Again, I think that far too many will think that shiny bars in the vaults will be enough. It won’t.

  9. Fort Knox: “You can’t come to Fort Knox.”
    Me: “Why?”
Fort Knox: “It’s a military installation.”
Me: “I’m a senator; I go to military bases all the time.”
Fort Knox: “You still can’t come. Because, you can’t.”

Tomorrow morning it would be fun if Trump walked into the Oval Office in the morning said:”Everybody, we’re going to Fort Knox for lunch today”

    Knock knock: “Sup Homie?”
    “Let me in”
    “You can’t come in”
    “You’re fired. Next!”

  10. One, since everyone believes the gold is all gone, the news would be if it’s there. So, not sure how much of a crash it would cause one way or another.

Two, Trump and Hegseth need to lead the delegation to check it out. With cameras rolling. I’d like to see them deny entry to both the President and the SecDef.

Plus the extra benefit of Trump going is that if anyone knows gold it’s him. 😁

I’m thinking there’s not a chance in hell Elon’s going to look at something shiny and take their word for it. Like I say, I hope it’s gone. Or even better I hope they get caught bringing it back. We’re no longer on the Gold Standard anymore so economic impact would be minimal. But that would just about end the Deep State and The Uni Party all in one shot. For good. They’d be hanging them in the streets.
