Expository preacher John F. MacArthur Jr., who taught Scripture to millions through taped sermons, radio broadcasts, Bible commentaries, and a best-selling study Bible, died Monday at the age of 86.
Great man and pastor. Awesome Biblical sermons and teaching. MacArthur refused to be religious or woke. Never watered down the scriptures of the Bible or compromised. Although, he preached the truth of God’s Word with compassion and conviction, at times he could be legalistic. Still, he loved the Lord and was unapologetic about the Gospel. He was one of the few pastors who refused to submit his church to Covid restrictions imposed on Christian churches by the government. A truly good and faithful servant.

That’s sad news. MacArthur’s influence on evangelical Christianity is undeniable, especially through his focus on detailed biblical exposition. I grew up listening to his radio broadcasts. It’s interesting how his meticulous approach contrasts with our shorter attention spans these days, like when I’m just trying to beat my high score on the Dinosaur Game while waiting for a page to load! He really made you slow down and think. He will be missed.
