Weren’t we told that steel companies were upset with the President?

PHenry caught this while surfing around today. With all the boycotting going on we figured we give a free shout out to this company because of their nifty artwork.Check out the hood.

The site is cool on its own. They will build you your classic dream car body and ship it out to you.

The owner of the shop was interviewed for the NYTs. This is what he had to say about tariffs.

Joe Whitaker, Real Deal Steel, Florida

We are a small $2 million per year business that operates in Sanford, Fla. We import automobile steel stampings from Taiwan and assemble reproduction car bodies for classic cars. We also sell parts wholesale and retail. If we are taxed at 25 percent for the items we import (or even 5 percent), our business quickly becomes obsolete, as our wholesale and retail prices will become too high for our customers. Myself and all of our employees voted Republican/Trump in the 2016 election and we have great faith in him. Our business and suppliers pose zero threat to our national security. Instead, we employ American workers, building products that Americans and foreigners wish to buy. Our products do not compete with anything currently produced in the U.S.A. Don’t ruin our American dream!

  1. Wait……what?! There’s a car? And a hood? Oh, there it is. TRMP-45. The only thing that classy chassis needs is a MAGA hat. On her head. Not the hood.

  2. Either I’m missing something or very stupid (go ahead and pick option 2) but I don’t see support for the President’s tariffs from the last couple of sentences.

  3. The dude’s using repo stampings from steel out of Taiwan, which by the way don’t usually line up for shit and are made out of crappy recycled steel. Not sure how the Tariffs are helping this guy. F4U’s on to something

  4. I was transferred to indiana last year and I drive by steel city indiana every week. I see Trump signs everywhere. The smoke stacks are all fired up and Americans are working again.

I will post a picture when I drive by it tomorrow.
    Putting Americans back to work.

  5. I buy steel 20 tons at a time. My product has some tight competition from the plastics market. The extra 20 pennies per pound for steel right now might just sting like a bitch, time will tell.
I’m still 100% Trump, he’s got the ‘Right Stuff’.

  6. I’m no expert on the auto body topic, but I think they got the original stamping dohickeys from GM and Ford. I saw it on one of those gear head shoes and they were very complimentary about the fit and finish.

  7. I’m not a car tinkerer, but the idea of having a 2018 ‘57 Chevy, as opposed to restoring a 50 year old rust bucket is appealing to me. I watch those shows and there are always surprises.
