Ironically, the guy you’re trying to identify was the baker. He’s an iOTWer from way back, nicknamed at the time The Cakeman, because he would make cakes for big acts visiting the Westchester County NY area.
This was taken at the Capitol Theater in Portchester, NY, 1975.

Yes, Chris Cassone, the Cakeman.
Read about the legendary cakes and Cakeman HERE or HERE. You will not be disappointed.
Micky Dolenz
That is not Bob Ross too, right?
I have a pretty good idea who
Is it that pinko guy? Seems like I heard he was/is in the music scene.
Home grown and down home?
Chris Cassone?
I say Cassone. too.
Also, Chris. I need cake. Where you at? 😀
Is that big fur on left?
I am going with Radiomatt
Looks like a strange brew of ingredients , could be pressed rat and wart hog. If served with fresh cream, I’ll have a slice. I’m so glad I viewed this.
Yes, that’s Cassone. I’ve met him in person. Great artist.
well, that was a piece of cake!
Wow, when I saw that name I thought of Italian bread, baguettes for those in Rio Linda, growing up in the Bronx.
It used to come about 24″ inches long wrapped in a wax like paper. Not sure if they are in business any longer I do not see that name when shopping?
PERFECT for garlic bread…
The Capital Theater went through a renovation about five years ago and is supposed to be a great place to see a show, tix just cost A LOT.
That LoHUD article was not that long ago, but I don’t read that rag. I USED to read a local paper called Sugar and Spice but don’t seem to remember seeing CC playing around.
And I NEVER HEARD OF THIS SONG…and I love it.

I know R22 VERY well. It starts a mile down the road from me and goes to Plattsburgh and and CN border.
We were up in Amenia only last week…
Thanks a BFH, that was effing great.
Oh Eddy Clarkridge is the consistent character in both shots, no? Who is he?
Claridge was a promoter at the theater. They book the band and rent out the theater. They assume the financial risk.
Thanks BFH…got to get back to the Yankee Game…
I am from the Bronx ya know, Chambliss that whole thing…and my youngest grew up a Jeter fan, yeah a house divided we have…
My older boy is one of YOU…an ole’ Shea type…
Ghost
What a great story.
More please.
No gay cakes?
MJA- You gotta be cake-worthy – have a show that is worth it and so well-guarded that a conniving finagler can fool your advanced perimeter guards with simple carbohydrates. Funny story- The Dead were hip to me. I couldn’t get by their security. But they took the cake, though!
and BFH – Remember that Howard Stein ran the Capitol before Claridge and his mother (who was always backstage.) Stein’s father, Charles, was a shady loanshark who ran afoul of the Westies. They dismembered him. Fun times.
The Capitol now is like Coachella is to the original Woodstock – a well-oiled business. Oh, I’m sure some magic moments happen there now but can they compare to moments like Janis writing “Mercedes Benz” at a table in next door’s Vahsen’s Bar and singing it acappella in the late show. (I have the original if you want it.)
And credit goes to my personal photographer, Doug Abdelnour of his Bedford Photographic. I got so brazen I eventually brought my own photographer.
