So what is the Mandela Effect?
It’s when a large swath of the population believes something happened, even saying they saw it happen when it never happened.
When Nelson Mandela died in 2003, many people said that was impossible because he “died in prison” in the 80s.
There are may more examples much more fun than that one.
I’ve run into so many people who swear they saw (fill in the actress) on the Johnny Carson Show who brought her pet cat onto the show. She asked if Johnny would like to “pet her pussy”?
Johnny said, “sure, move the damn cat.”
Many people back in the day said they were watching the Giants game on TV when Bobby Thompson hit the shot heard around the world and Russ Hodges went nuts on the broadcast saying over and over “the Giants win the pennant.”
It never happened. Russ Hodges was a radio announcer, the clip we see is woven together with archival footage of that day.
There was never a Jiffy peanut butter.

The first one that introduced me to the Mandela Effect years ago was the whole “Luke, I am your father” which most people believed was said by Darth Vader. It wasn’t.
