The hail was not large but heavy rain floated it to the low spots where it accumulated. There are leaves on trees and no broken glass on cars visible. I have seen the same to a lesser extent many times.
Well at lest the weather likely had the same effect on bad weather in Chicago that is dramatically lowering the murder rate. For a few hours anyway.
