What the brainiac’s think the future will hold (from 1967).
Some of the predictions are very close, but most of the optimism doesn’t take into account human nature and the slide into insanity we are seeing today. Still, worth a laugh.
Video is 25.11 in length.

Watch it HERE.
I’m not sure treachery, tyranny and greed are “human” nature.
I still remember that in 1965 we would be all have flying cars by the 90’s.
These guys seem to be pretty accurate.
In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
In the year 3535
Ain’t gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain’t gonna need your teeth, won’t need your eyes
You won’t find a thing to chew
Nobody’s gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin’ limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin’ to do
Some machine’s doin’ that for you
In the year 6565
You won’t need no husband, won’t need no wife
You’ll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube
In the year 7510
If God’s a coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He’ll look around Himself and say
Guess it’s time for the judgment day
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake His mighty head
He’ll either say I’m pleased where man has been
Or tear it down, and start again
In the year 9595
I’m kinda wonderin’ if man is gonna be alive
He’s taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain’t put back nothing
Now it’s been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what, he never knew, now man’s reign is through
But through eternal night, the twinkling of starlight
So very far away, maybe it’s only yesterday
In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
Bravo! I was 14 in 1967 and didn’t have a clue what 2001 would look like. Hell, I probably can’t even tell you what’s going to happen next week.
Flying Cars and Flying Fux… neither of which ever materialized!
And orgasmatrons are still in the future as well although they’re getting closer by the day.
Hey, why are all those great big brains in 1967 white?
None of them foresaw the leftist take over of all aspects of our society, and the resulting destruction of western civilization.
All that shit started in Frisco during the Summers of 67 and 68 with all the damn hippies and the other new lefties who fucked everything up since then.
I see they were giving grant money to colleges to do dumshit useless things then, too…
I think everything has gone to hell in a handbasket ever since that millennial clock turned over.
The Space Odyssey:2001 never happened like stoners (or I) thought it would back in 1968. Although maybe with AI we are on the verge of getting evil HAL type computers.
When I first saw it in summer ’68, I was like “Wow, so cool”. But the whole story is utter nonsense, starting with that big black monolith coming to earth and kick-starting a bunch of monkeys to evolve into thinking humans. I’m surprised they didn’t have the monkeys sit down on front of typewriters so they could type out Hamlet in a week or two. All the rest of the movie after that was sheer bunkum.
The book or screenplay was written by Arthur C. Clarke, a homosexual who went for young Ceylon boys. He had a twisted heart and mind.
Sorry Sci-fi fans, but to me it is junk and not even worth the celluloid.
HAA! I don’t remember 2001.
“HAA! I don’t remember 2001.”
Think back. That’s the year VW discontinued the Thing. You were not in a good way. LOL
I remember The Thing. Based on the design of the WWII Wehrmacht version of the Jeep. One good thing about it is that it had all flat surfaces, so if you got a bended fender, you just had to unscrew it, remove it and plug in a new one.
2001, August, when I got married and lost my freedom.
2001, September, when all Americans lost their freedom.
2001 I was at work and solely focused on work. Although I do remember 9/11, I think it should go without saying.
In those days I was still a Bell head and read my BSPs and Station Service Manuals for the sake of being a better technician.
I prefer Idiocracy and Mike Judge to those Cia Rand Corp morons. If Walter Cronkite narrated, it had to be deep state
Back in the late 50’s I had an illustrated book about the future of automobiles like in 1980 and even 2000.
I wish I still had it. I think my mom sold it to a dealer in the late 70s when she retired and downsized.
She got $300 (in 1975 dollars) for a box of my brothers old comix. Fantastic Four was among his favorites.
@ecp
2001, June, got married lost my freedom.
2021, March, Judge signed the papers and regained most of my freedom.
In 1967 I was two years out of Vietnam. I had no idea that the New World Order was being implemented.
Another’s reflections and predictions about the future that both hit and miss their mark. Gotta love Donald’s music though.
