Tony Burrows. On the show Top of The Pops one week, he, embarrassingly was the lead singer of at least three or four of the songs on the show — a bit of an embarrassment when they generally show the acts performing (or at least lip-syncing) the songs.
I am sure that Mr. Hat is shocked, SHOCKED that I would know such a thing.
I took a quick peek at the comments but missed Bob Jakob’s. Sorry about that (unless he posted his while I was typing mine).

@ Bob Jakob
That looks a lot like the Elaine Benes Dance.
Dance or spasms?

They all suck sewer water

Songs that would make you tune your radio to another station?
12
They all need more cowbell.
11
I didn’t make a dime on any of them?

I was going to guess The Wrecking Crew, since they had their hand in everything else back then.

Hey at least you didn’t throw in Muskrat Love, Afternoon Delight, Watching Snotty Grow etc. all those songs sucked and so did the Top 40. Top 40, guaranteed to play the suckiest songs of the week at least 8 to 10 times an hr. till they became unbearable ear worms.

Yummy, yummy, yummy I’ve got an upset tummy listening to crummy music.
4
I heard them all on WLS Chicago.

All one hit wonders?

“Gimme Dat Ding!” is the only good song up there.
Other than that, I have no clue, as usual.

Thirdtwin: they are all from the UK.
They were typical early ‘70’s Top 40 hits. They may not have been your favorites, but they did fit in with the time.
3
They are all better than anything Springsteen ever did.

“What’s the Connection Between These Songs?”
They all suck.

45 flip sides.

And what Jerry M said.

Definitely agree with William Mathews above. Best time of my life when these were popular!
RadioMattM, I heard all of those songs on top 40 WQXI AM 790 when I was a kid, and more: “Red Rubber Ball”…”Summer Sand”…”Hold Me Tight”…”Israelite”…”Double Barrel”…Those were the days.

Thirdtwin: Atlanta. Home of Dr. Don Rose as featured on the Cruising ’67 record.
Ooh those are some good records, especially Israelites and Double Barrel.
Double Barrel was late Spring, early Summer 1971. I kinda see that time as when I “came of age.” Still a kid, but starting to be independent, etc. I friend of mine got his drivers license about then so I started to get out a bit more without a parent or older sibling lugging me around.
Eric Clapton wasn’t in any of those bands?
The erect male penis. LOL
Mike Bloomfield was in none of them?
Let me guess… Joe Cocker never sang in any of them?
Tony Burrows.
Ever since I’ve seen this:

Banned or censored due to lyrics?
Bob, now that is an outfit!
Good times!
