For a second I thought it might be my long lost brother Ferrante
But alas, just another brother from another mother.
He would appear to be more natural residing in a cave and dispensing Guru type wisdom to poor, unfortunate and disillusioned Femocrat self help seekers!
A lot of truth is said in jest.
I don’t care if he said he was joking, and everyone had a good laugh. He had one chance to honor his family and he tells a humiliating lie about them. Real funny, jerk.
Tongue-in-cheek humor, I was raised that way with my family where it was considered good natured fun.
This made made me laugh out loud, once the interview began that is. The whole family was in on it! There is much fun in that knowledge.
I once (individually) asked our two teenage kids what they liked most about our family. Of course I was expecting a we know that you always love us response. They said, “Our family’s sense of humor”. 😀
My father was the most sarcastic man I ever heard, until now.
Little over the top, guess they, “get him”.
It sometimes stings, even if you do get him.
A tale as long as his beard.
The point of his humour was to really set up how he really felt about his family. Many of the people on Wheel are so effusive about how wonderful their family is that you begin to glaze over hearing about it. His initial statement was so jarring it really got your attention, at which point he said how much he loved his family – and you really heard it and could tell that he meant it.
^^^ a flag on the mansplaining.
I have been waiting for decades to see someone have the guts to satirize the usual sappy, syrupy family descriptions on this show (“I’ve been married for twelve fantastic years to my wonderful husband John and we have three adorable children”, etc., etc. Gag me with a spoon.)
Good for you, Blair. They’ll remember you and your family long after all the others are forgotten.
🙂
Father Time has a warped sense of humor.
It would have been funnier if it was true.
I have the perfect Marriage, and the most faithful Husband EVER!!!!
I missed Jordan Rudess on “Wheel Of Fortune?!?!?!”
He explained it well, he was countering the typical tv gameshow cloying bullshit.
Bet he wears a kilt well.
@Vietvet
Exactly. My very thoughts.
