It was the day before our magnifiscent President Trump’s Inauguration Day.
Despite the finality of that day, I remember the Trump family waited a few weeks for the funk cloud to clear the WH after the Fruitcake and his ‘wife’ the Linebacker vacated.
Huron, you came for ice cream the same way we used to get firecracker’s back from your side. We would all walk over and purchase our firecracker’s then one or two of us would swim back with them wrapped in plastic. I don’t recall how we got the plastic bags though cause this was back in the paper bag days. Darn current would kick our butts trying not to get taken downstream too far.

Got to Kingston and got on the ‘River road’ north, but had to make the right at the Thousand Island Bridge, could have kept on going…maybe on another trip.
I have not been to Gaspe and the Atlantic Provinces…yet.
I quit eating fruitcake when my mom sent me one just as I was finishing Navy boot camp in the fall of 1972 and I was forced by the Company Commander to eat it all, not all at once but as soon as possible because he thought it might be contraband. I haven’t touched one since.
Fruitcake is vile, nasty stuff.
