Amusing, yet leaving a fowl taste.
Worthy of a pullet-zer prize.
YEA!!..Super Chicken !!….
YEA!!..TOM SLICK !!..YEA The THUNDERBOLT GREASESLAPPER!!..
i have to share that I have the ‘Super Chicken’ cartoon song firmly embedded in my memory banks. And like t Jack, hell yeah, Tom Slick in his Thunderbolt Greaseslapper. We had awesome cartoons when we were kids. Those writers must have been having a blast writing that stuff and acting like over-sugared teenagers. I actually got out of the house on Saturdays, too. In the summers we used to swim in the Mississippi River. My how things have changed in 40 years
I miss Saturday mornings!

I think Superchicken inspired Dick Orkin, the DJ at WCFL out of Chicago to come up with Chickenman.
MJA – you need a new hobby.
(says they guy who goes to IOTWreport at 8AM on Saturday morning)
And there was Quackula:

.
There is one thing you should learn, when there is no one else to turn to,
Call out for super chicken.
Gad, my deep memory was just triggered.
Can’t find the stuff I carry around with me half the time, but that, that I have retained.
Buck, those were some good Saturdays
I remember Super Chicken, too, though I can’t recall a single episode.
Strange, isn’t it?
izlamo delenda est …
Buck, buck, buckah!!! I loved Super Chicken back in the day, also Tom Slick and George Of The Jungle which was done by the same animators. Poor kids nowadays have no good Saturday morning cartoons like we did. Most of the crap on now is pure propaganda and politically correct bs.
As a child, Saturdays mornings were the only days I didn’t need to be woken up.
One day, I realized I was choosing to be sleepy and resistant to getting up on school days.
I love being a morning person and those awesome Saturdays back then led me to it.
Cartoons were the fallback if the friends weren’t home.
Yet, I had a friend that I had a long-running competition to name every TV show that was ever on. Went on for many months winding down to a response every week or so at the end.
Had a great childhood, but would not do it over again for anything. No regrets so far.
Especially if I took my current knowledge back with me. Ugh. That would be hell, except for the part where I invest in Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Home Depot, AT&T, etc as they come along.
If you liked Super Chicken then you prolly loved Scooby Doo too. Therefore I must hate you.
Jethro – I can’t believe Quackula is almost 2 hours long! That’ll kill a brain in no time!
Tom Terrific, Courageous Cat, Mighty Mouse.
Rocky and Bullwinkle.
I thought this was going to be about George Will.
Corona, I hated Scooby Doo and still do. I thought it was retarded.
Thundar the Barbarian, The Herculoids, the original Space Ghost. These are the Saturday morning cartoons that I miss. Why doesn’t the Cartoon Channel play these?
Oh gaaah, no! I hated Scooby Doo. Shaggy worked my nerves big time. Ugh.
I credit Bugs Bunny and them for getting me into classical music.
Also, I think I was born in the town where Coyote and Roadrunner live.
MEEP! MEEP!
You mention Super Chicken, what about Fred?
Speaking of Rocky and Bullwinkle, an unnamed source told me Obama leaked the plans for the Hush-a-boom to the Russians. Can this be verified?
@Tony R
We’re waiting for intel from Boris and Natasha.
Is there any market for an Upsadaisium mine? Betcha that someone who doesn’t know what Upsadaisium is would fall for it. Bullwinkle may’ve been a kid’s cartoon but the humor was definitely for adults and kids who got it like I did and many others. Where’s Fearless Leader when we need him?
@extirpates
Fred, you knew the job was dangerous when you took it.

Mix up a batch of supersauce, Fred!
