Why Healing from Internalized Whiteness Is a Missing Link in White People’s Anti-Racism Work – IOTW Report

Why Healing from Internalized Whiteness Is a Missing Link in White People’s Anti-Racism Work

A Free Webinar by Sandra Kim, Founder of Everyday Feminism.

Everyday Feminism-

If you work on diversity and equity issues in predominantly white organizations and communities…

Then I bet you’ve seen a huge jump in the number of white people who want to put in actual work to end racism since Trump got elected.

But as you know, just because they want to address white supremacy in the world doesn’t mean they’re emotionally equipped to actually acknowledge it within themselves.

And if they don’t realize how they’re unconsciously acting in racist ways – and stop doing it, then all this great momentum will at best, lead to nowhere.

At worst, it’ll break trust with the people of color they’re trying to work with – and with themselves.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

You can help them mindfully connect to the pain of internalized white supremacy and consciously choose to not act in racist ways.

Join me as I walk you through the first 3 key insights I teach in my Healing from Internalized Whiteness training program…

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
  • The number one reason why it’s so hard for white people to take action for racial justice that’s actually anti-racist – even when they really want to
  • A key distinction that helps white people let go of their desire to identify with whiteness – even if they feel lost without it
  • How to respond to white people when they’re feeling emotionally distressed about what to do around racism – in a way that lets everyone, including you, breathe easier
  • The most powerful action you can do to help white people to shift from unconsciously upholding white supremacy to proactively dismantling it – which you can do immediately if you only knew what it was
  • How to get access to more of this unique healing racial justice work with in-person trainings and ongoing support

!snip!

And just who is going to navigate you away from your internalized whiteness?

—>

What the hell does she know about being white?

The Independent-

“If you walk by someone and you’re in a hurry and step on their foot the appropriate response is to say ‘sorry, do you need anything, is your foot OK?’ But when it comes to racism, sexism, transphobia and any other form of systemic oppression, it gets very emotionally charged.

“People want to deny the harm has happened. That’s why people keep saying the US isn’t racist and Trumps’ policies aren’t racist despite the fact of who is being targeted disproportionately by his policies and belief systems.”

While people enter the course hoping to learn skills to help persuade other white people that immigration isn’t inherently harmful and that multiculturalism can work, they are surprised by the outcome.

!snip!

Another dipchit conflating immigration with illegal immigration, and then holding a webinar to insane-splain to the rest of us.

  1. I love pure white — whole — milk, too, Cisco. ….with Ovaltine.

Yesterday, I had to deal with a dying, then dead, mouse in front of my desk, after a three day tussle with the little critter. That distressed me, terribly.

I’m going to stick with flavored white milk. I don’t have time for other whiteness issues. There are too many mice in the world. ….Lady in Red

  2. After I complete this training, do I get some kind of badge, or arm band, or forehead tattoo to let people of color know?

So that I won’t be marginalized, dismissed out of hand because I’m white?

  3. …the whole thing is that antebellum Southern slavery of a limited number of Blacks by a limited number of Whites is the same as Original Sin in the Bible, except there’s no Jesus, no forgiveness, and no possibility of redemption.

Therefore, in this way of thinking, you are irredeemably deplorable, so you must die. No other solution but genocide is possible to these folks.

Keep that in mind as they continue to steal elections, ignore genocide against Whites in Africa, and push PC further and further until ALL Whites are discriminated against for their skin color (Affirmative Action, college admissions, home loans, etc.)

…and keep all this in mind when you’re around the gun shop, too. Just sayin’…

  4. “… want to address white supremacy in the world …”

There’s an explicit assumption of “white supremacy” in her statement.
She is envious, hateful, and jealous of what she perceives as “white supremacy” and has embarked on this “jihad” against “whiteness,” which she doesn’t understand, but hates with a bitterness that’s corrupting her “soul.”

  5. Do any of these libtards and or feminazis
realize how racist other countries are?
Why doesn’t she go to South Africa and give
her lecture to the RACIST angry negro people who
are getting ready to kill every last white person.

  6. Quick question – What is a “White Person”? If she’s Asian-American, and there are African-Americans, then why am I not a German-American? Are Jews “White People”? Why or why not? Seriously.

  7. If you are not white, you should not be judging what it’s like to be white. That’s just racist. Do these people have NO self-awareness. This dumb b*tch is the racist.

  8. Collectivist crap. My identity is individual and not defined by any real or perceived group membership.

The current fad of “identifying as ______” is collectivism at its ugliest, and seems to me to be deliberately engineered to foment real hatred among people and make it difficult if not impossible for individuals to get to know and appreciate each other’s positive character attributes.

  9. Another poster child for what it looks like to internalize stupid.

D’Souza recently started talking about how Germans under Nazism began displaying the Nazi flag on their homes and businesses (even when they weren’t devoutly Nazi or even disagreed with Nazism) in order to signal to everyone that “they were one of them.” This served to keep the Nazi’s bullies off their backs and to protect themselves and their families from being subjected to Nazi scrutiny and harassment. Now, whenever I see all the signs, flags and bumper stickers of people in my daily travels, I think about D’Souza’s analogy of the Germans.

This woman is not a deep thinker, she’s a young, gullible tool of commie group think. And like her ilk, she is a danger to American society.

  10. Is anyone here old enough to remember the Twilight Zone episode “To Serve Man” wherein superior aliens who looked human “visited” Earth to help us evolve to a higher level? Turns out the aliens were grooming humans to be taken to their home planet to be eaten. All this PC/racist/uberlib crap of late is so completely insane and suicidal that I’m beginning to wonder if that episode wasn’t fiction at all – just a little prophetic.

  11. That’s the same dude that promised “I could have more money than Donald Trump! By ‘investing’ in real estate. With no money down!”. Still shillin’ the “advanced” seminars after the “free” seminar. Where you have to buy the “free” seminar “study materials”.

I guess after gender, race, and intelligence became “nothing more than social constructs”, sanity was next on the list. (Which you don’t get to buy a copy of until you’ve paid to audit clear, after “attending” the advanced seminars.)

  12. Take a piece of paper.
Make three columns: Caucasian, Mongoloid, Negroid.
List the accomplishments of each GROUP in the appropriate column (use your own discretion deciding what constitutes “accomplishment” – just pretend to be consistent).
Which of the racial GROUPs has the longer list?
    Which next?
    Which least?

Now compare and contrast your piece of paper with the pieces of papers of others of differing racial GROUPs.

Now transform the whole notion to CONTINENTs.
North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Antarctica, Melanesia (or all the Archipelagoes combined).

Rate them by the numbers of entries.

Again, compare and contrast your paper with those of others.
    Any similarities?
    Major differences?
Anything clearly (and unequivocally) stand out as “supreme?”

Now do another transformation by Religion: Animist, Atheist, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jew, Moslem, Pagan, Rastafarian.
    Go through the same steps.
Compare and contrast with other religion-types.
    Ask the same questions.

Send all this shit to BFH and have him collate.
He’ll let us know the “supreme” category.

  13. …and while we’re on the subject of “missing links”….

The linkage has slipped in these people who try to convince whites that they are “victims, too” because they didn’t give permission to the people who told them they are superior.

    Logic. Tortured into submission.

    5
  14. They also don’t understand the pressure of having such a high bar. Because of the greatness of Western culture, whites really need to achieve something to impress other whites. We don’t get a standing ovation for supporting ourselves and staying out of jail.

  15. Love going to Korea, but you have to understand the people, they are extremely racist. They also consider themselves black despite the fact the are whiter than me, and I am blond and blue eye. If we are priveledged, then great, I am keeping it.
