  1. …when I was 16, I thought pulling my friend down a paved street and into a gravel parking lot on a skateboard with a rope attached to a dirt bike was a good idea.

…turns out it wasn’t, since he face-planted just like our Nation will when Democrats get back in power…

  2. I was a total geek and a nerd and a moron when I was 16. All I was interested in was reading and collecting comic books, reading sci fi etc. I hadn’t quite blown the clutch out of a 53 Chevy yet by pushing my friends behemoth 48 Chrysler up the hill to get it started and learning how to rebuild the clutch because my dad thought I was an idiot. Thank God, I grew up and my son wasn’t much better when he was 16 either. I let him drive my dad’s old 72 Chevy pickup (he owns that truck now as a reminder of his grandfather) when he was learning to drive and he drove it real fast across the Maple St. bridge at 60 mph when the speed limit was 40. My biggest mistake was telling my dad about it, I got into more trouble than my son did, I should have just shut the hell up. Yep, both of us were morons that day.

  3. Geoff,
At least you know about a clutch and know about cars that could be started by pushing them (usually downhill).
Today’s kids would be totally confused about that third pedal and the shifting of a real transmission.

  4. Yeah the kids nowadays wouldn’t know what a three in a tree tranny is or even or a 4 on the floor like in my 56 Ford F100 P/U. I always laugh at all the stories about idiot kids who try to steal a car and find out that they can’t drive a manual transmission car. And I would never ever trust a self driving car just because.
