MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Black students should be offered free tuition and housing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison because blacks were legally barred from education during slavery and university remains out of reach for black students today, the student government said Wednesday.
The Associated Students of Madison said in a resolution that students from suburban high schools are overrepresented. The group said consideration of ACT and SAT scores in applications restricts opportunities for the poor and thus upholds “white supremacy.”
Race relations have been a contentious issue at the Wisconsin’s flagship campus for months. The university has proposed some measures aimed at improving diversity. more

When the professors, administrators, teacher-aides, janitors, utilities, etc. all work for free, then you can ask for free tuition.
I’m sure that The Associated Students of Madison are more than happy to pay more in tuition to make up the difference.

Why “pay more in tuition to make up the difference”? They’re all right there, on the same Facebook lists, actually right next to each other. Just pass (a stylishly retro) hat, and pay the tuition for whoever they want. If the University of Wisconsin-Madison hasn’t taught them how to pass a simple hat, why would you debilitate an oppressed minority with the type of “teaching” the University of Wisconsin-Madison does?
Well, that’s easy enough to take care of.
For every black student enrolled with free tuition (and I would presume free room and board) and deficient SAT scores one white student is expelled or simply denied entry and the response to their application thanks them for their contribution to bettering black lives in America. The tuition and any other expenses incurred (tuition, Room and Board, special tutoring) by the black student will be split among all remaining white students as a tuition increase. It wouldn’t be fair to lower the ability of the University to provide the high quality nor would it be fair to go to the government for funding for a program that is clearly a University initiative.
This can continue until the overall white enrollment has dropped by at least 14% while overall black has increased 14% representing the black racial proportion of the US.
Should a black student fail and drop out before the end of term his or her space will not be filled until the beginning of the next education year and unused funds would not be returned to the white students but rather put into a fund to raise awareness of slavery that was banned over 150 years ago but is still called upon today to instill guilt into whites and used to extort money from everyone else. I’m sure all the residents of Wisconsin would heartily approve this attempt at reparation for slavery because something like this is exactly what it is and should be called.
How about free tuition and housing at the university of Zimbabwe? We will throw in a free coach ticket, with the proviso that you don’t come back!
When you get something for free you don’t appreciate it as much as if you worked for it.
Let’s stop all handouts to black peoples they now expect everything to be free.
Many of the most successful people I know paid their own way through college, in fact one of my regrets is not developing a stronger work ethic (not that I don’t work hard) by working my way through college.
And I highly, highly recommend reading Booker T. Washington’s Up from Slavery – perhaps the most motivating book I have read, from a former slave turned educator who insisted that every student at his school help to build it, do janitorial, etc.
If we could have seen this coming we would have picked our own cotton.

When Bernie Sanders’ supporters came to my (community college) campus to round up folks to come to a rally, I informed one of them that I’m faculty, and I asked, “If college becomes free, will I still get paid?”
This BS from Madison makes me think, isn’t it RACIST for teachers at UWM to actually charge black students to attend class? Shouldn’t they refund a portion of their salaries directly to their black students? If you make, say $100,000 teaching at UWM, and 50% of your students are black, shouldn’t you pay them back the $50,000 you stole from them, you racist bastard?
So much for equality!

In 2013 professors at University of Wisconsin-Madison had an average nine month salary of $113,097.
There are 662 black undergraduates at UWM, which is 2% of the enrollment 32,662. So, 2% of $113,097 is $2,364.67, which is about $3.57 each. Every black student at UWM should demand $3.57 from each teacher.
Because this is what equality looks like.
Ok. Then descendents of indentured persons brought to America indentured to British settlers should get everything free, also. They were used as free labor/slaves and sent to build the colonization of America.
How about these black students do like use poor caucasians did back in the day, work part time during the school semester and full time during the summer, some of us carried a full time job during the semester by working the grave yard shift. A diploma not only provides evidence that you showed up for the required classes, it also shows the world that you, or your family, put forth the financial support to acquire that document. A free diploma is worth exactly what you pay for it.
Don’t waste time sending them – just give em a diploma.
No increased cost, no taxpayer bailout, no nothing.
Hand em a BA, MA, or PhD – or all three!

I’m all for it. Why? Every action produces a reaction. Free tuition for black students? The reaction will be a demand for free tuition from other groups, too. If these ‘students’ get free tuition? So the college is on the hook for that, too.
Then there will be a white flight from this campus like you’ve never seen before. Then they will start looking for colleges that don’t buy into this garbage and won’t make them foot the bill for deadbeats. What colleges will they look for? Colleges run by conservatives.
The tenured professors will then be on the receiving end of what they’ve been dishing out for decades. All these black students will cry racism every time they receive a bad grade. Those profs will wither on the vine and die off finally eradicating the vast wasteland of socialist fueled higher education.
The self-entitled black ‘students’ will emerge with their college degrees and no skills or real learning, but with the attitude that the world owes them. They will be lucky if they can get a fast food restaurant job. Karma is a bitch, huh?

my parents taught me growing up–nothing is really free- you want something, work hard,get an education and do your best at what you do-. No hand outs were ever given to me unless it was candy at Halloween. 🙂
Why demand? Take direct action. If they want them to have free tuition all the members of Associated Students of Madison need to do is sponsor the black students. Just go sign up to pay for their tuition, books, meal pass, and dorm room. OH wait, right, they can’t do anything themselves they want someone else to pay for it.
