Geico must pay a Missouri woman $5.2 million after she caught HPV from unprotected sex with her then-boyfriend in his insured automobile, a state appellate court ruled.

  1. Cars are insured, houses are insured and on and on. This just opens the floodgates for frivolous lawsuits that we have to pay because the insurance companies aren’t going to absorb the costs.

    is the car the only place they ever had sex? If they also had sex in his bedroom, how do they know it wasn’t contracted there? If that would be so, could the municipality where he or she lives be sued? Sounds like that is next.
    It makes a mockery of the justus system.

  5. I personally don’t care since it happened in MO (not my state, so it won’t affect my rates) but you would think MO drivers who sat on the jury would think differently.

  6. How in the heck do they award a claim in great excess of normal coverage. Bodily injury $100,000. The rest is on the owner…..crap should’ve been dismissed with prejudice at the outset.
