Huh. More ribeye for me, when it’s in the budget. They can keep their designer toefood or whatever.
Oh Hell yes, it’s all about women all the time.
I didn’t read the article, did it mention social justice? Women of color?

I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t eat meat, male or female, of whatever gender.
Paleo: learn it, live it. love it.
The women I’ve witnessed, who claim to suffer in this way, surely haven’t stopped eating anything.
That happened 21 years ago after we got married, no wonder she’s so tired all the time.
My erstwhile bride suffered from a rapid onset of “headaches,” and the illusory odor of alcohol on my breath…okay, maybe not so illusory, but still… ;D
Not only giving up meat, but many women I know are on this gluten free diet kick and they are worse off than before. I have one friend so far gone that she even gets after me if I want to enjoy a diet soda. She has orthorexia, and it ruined her first marriage and is about to ruin our relationship. Poor Steve Jobs was a vegetarian and he’s dead too.
Here’s the formula. Eat less calories than your body can burn off in a day, everyday, and you become and stay skinny.
There’s no other way around it.
I’m not certain, but I also think it’s the key to fighting off disease.
Giving up meat is fine, but you have to plan your meals very carefully to make up for its absence.
I rarely eat meat, but do eat lots of seafood, eggs, dairy, tofu, and beans for protein. Also nuts for snacking.
I’m absolutely positive I’m getting all my vitamins and minerals from a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables in my diet.
My hair is so thick I can barely get a comb through it. The thing that makes me chronically fatigued is working in New York City Family Gulag, not my diet.
A lot of those problems are likely due to some of the things they eat in place of meat. Soy products, for one, are not a good replacement. And they are not getting enough of the right nutrients and vitamins, which you can get – as greetingsfromyonkers mentioned – from other sources.
I have a very healthy granddaughter who doesn’t eat meat, but she does eat eggs, fish, and takes supplements.
There are a lot of medicines that will deplete a body of vitamins and minerals. Prilosec will deplete B-12 and magnesium, and it also contains aluminum which will make you go kookoo in your later years.
The phytoestrogens in soy are endocrine disrupters and can cause a lot of health problems. I quit eating soy after I got Graves’ Disease.
Forgot to say not that the soy caused it. It’s an autoimmune disease. The soy didn’t help matters after I got sick and had the Radioactive Iodine treatment. It also interferes with the absorption of thyroid medication
I already love it. I eat a ketogenic diet and use a lot of paleo recipe books. Just found a great liver recipe in an Egyptian cookbook of all places.
Love my bullet-proof coffee in the morning. To Hell with low fat crap.
I had to look up Grave’s disease as I didn’t know anything about it, but I’ve had some dealings with autoimmune issues. It looks like L- Carnitine might be a helpful supplement for that.
Thanks. I looked it up and will give it a try. I still need to rebuild some muscle mass. When I was really ill I lost weight including healthy muscle.
When I lost a bunch of weight because of the achalasia, once I was able to eat again I ordered the 10 pound buckets of Muscle Juice powder from Bodybuilding dot com. That stuff really helped a lot. They might have something that will work for you.
Always best to check it with your doctor if you are still under a doctor’s care. There are a lot of different ingredients in those shake mixes.
