Working At The Clinton Foundation A “Terrible Experience!!!”

Ever hear of “Glassdoor.com?” It’s a website that lets employees (current / former) comment on their place of work, as well as for  firms to post jobs. I was looking for any news on the Clinton Foundation (their latest good works or conferences or any notable activity) when I came across pages of workers describing what it was like at the Foundation.  The list hasn’t been updated since last October, but here’s a sampling of some of the more detailed reviews.

Terrible Experience!!!

Pros

Health Benefits, that’s about it.

Cons

Terrible management, from Directors onto Managers. The Membership Department is the worse of them all and has the highest turnover, almost half of the membership team is GONE…that should say a lot!
Salary sucks, they try to win you over on “overtime” that you barely ever get unless your working on an event, primary the “Annual Meeting”…other then that, no real overtime is offered.
No growth opportunities, …

Here’s another good one

“Shadow Political Campaign”

I worked at Clinton Foundation full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Intelligent individuals for the most part.

Cons

Revolving door of political surrogates as senior managers who are disorganized and unprofessional. Undue focus on and direct involvement in electoral politics. Good storytelling and Clinton family cult-of-personality used to detract from work that isn’t being accomplished or scaled in a substantial way. Toxic culture.

Advice to Management

Decouple the work from electoral politics. Hire competitively on merit, not on previous service to the Clintons.

Many of the positive reviews seem to be posted by unpaid interns. Reviews of the Clinton Foundation Here

There are 29 job openings currently listed for the Foundation. It seems the Clintons have opened a restaurant in Little Rock because 12 of those have titles like “runner/busser, pastry chief, bartender, on-call banquet server, AM line cook, etc.”

  1. I always thought the Clinton Foundation did two primary things: #1. Provide a way of charging the Clinton Family travel onto the foundation ( Must be great to have $$Millions$$ and someone else always pays your travel) and #2 a place to park & pay Clinton campaign officials in between the Clinton campaigns.

  2. What a fantastic place to work. I was technically an unpaid intern, but there were piles of cash lying about and we were encouraged to fill our pockets on the way out. The work load increased whenever Bill showed up because the female interns scattered like ambushed wildebeests, but once Bill culled one or two from the herd things returned to normal. Hillary could be difficult, but she normally calmed down when we chanted “you won the popular vote,” forced a couple of bottles of wine down her, and filled her epipen with a tranquilizer.

It wasn’t all fun and games – we had to hide when those pesky Haitians showed up asking about the money they were promised and none of us really spoke Russian that well – but normally the work was minimal and the perks were great if you didn’t mind Bill’s left-overs.

  3. The restaurant is probably at the Clinton Library. Bill lives in the penthouse on top. It’s reported that he gets all his meals from the restaurant.
