Arrest Made in Aggravated Assault Investigation
Detectives with Columbia Police Department identified and arrested twenty-nine year old Deriance Ra’Shaiel Hughes in relation to the investigation of the assault at Popeye’s Louisiana Chicken on November 5th. Hughes was taken into custody without incident at about 2:20 P.M. and has been charged with the felony of Aggravated Assault.
Staggs, 55, has a broken leg, nine fractures in her elbow and six broken ribs. She was trying to get a refund after being charged twice for her $13.11 meal.

We have a Popeye’s near our home. Mostly black employees who are always so courteous and just all around ready to make your visit great. If you have to pull up into the wait stall you want to apologize to them. They apologize and it is obvious that it is sincere. Just a class act. I will never go near one in some places though.

Huh, we have a Popeyes here but I’ve never been and come to think of it, it’s in a spot that for me is just a place to drive past. I’m usually focused on where I’m going and don’t pay attention to it.

Wife and I just went to Popeye’s the other day (Mtn. Home, AR).
Good chicken, good sides, good service (take out), and no assaults.

Columbia, TN is a weird city with a lot of secrets. It’s far enough away from Nashville that nobody goes there unless they have family there. But with the expansion of cities like Franklin and Spring Hill, people who move that extra bit get….Columbia in all its glory. Organized crime, city corruption or some such.
Any locals want to chime in.
Anyway. Popeye’s sucks. There’s one in the airport. What is the BFD. You offer me Popeye’s or Chikfila and Chik wins 10 out of 10 times.

I went to Popeyes once and I’ll never go back due to poor service, screwing up our order and being overpriced. We’re still waitng for Chik-fil-A to open here next year.
